We arrived at night, just as well given the condition of the road the last few kilometres! A very warm welcome awaited us. The cabins are well appointed and comfortable. Fantastic views of the Arenal Lake andnVolcano ,,,,,when the clouds part. The gardens are lovely, the nearby forest with its bird life is fascinating. Breakfast at the main house is... More

What can we say, we planned on staying two nights and ending up staying for five. Augustin, Gordon and Nancy were the perfect hosts. After doing hours and hours of research it was clear we choose the best place to stay in the area. The views are spectacular, the grounds are amazing, the rooms are luxurious and the pool is... More

The drive up is rough, but man, what a view awaits you when you arrive at Nepenthe! A wonderful welcome, warm and courteous service and attention to making one's stay as enjoyable as possible, a bountiful and delicious breakfast, and the option to have Odile's delicious home cooked dinner with a bottle of wine if you want to stay in... What a pleasant surprise arriving at this location. Spectacular views of both the Arenal Volcano and Lake. Right from the beginning, Agustin presented as the perfect host. Providing important information regarding possible hikes in the area, directions, durations, suitability for kids etc. Perfect, thank you for that, Agustin ! In addition, our cabin/apartment was beautiful, clean and very well equipped.... More

One of the best, if not the best, views of Arenal Lake and Volcano. We saw toucans, parrots, and monkeys all while sitting in a swinging chair on the porch. The breakfast is great and you can even make a special request for dinner which is also delicious. The staff is very courteous and were very helpful in pointing out... More

Amazing location, stunning views of wildlife and sounds of them too. We saw toucans and caught glimpses of some monkeys as we were driving up the drive. It was very beautiful apart from the bathroom was not clean and the shower did not work very well.
