We visited El Sabanero the last week in march for our spring break. We were so happy with the cleanliness and comfort. The lodge is welcoming, relaxing and equipped with a few hammocks! The pool was the perfect warm temperature and clean! (open 24hrs for a late night swim). The food was delicious. The breakfast in the morning was perfect... More

This was our family's best vacation yet, and that was in large part due to the hospitality that Susi, Harold, and Kurt showed our family while we were at El Sabanero. It sounds cliche, but we really felt like we were staying with family. With their help we were able to plan daytime excursions to wonderful parts of Costa Rica,... More

My husband and I booked the El Sabanero Eco Lodge based on all the outstanding reviews here, and were pleasantly surprised to find that it really IS as great as people say it is! Its quiet, off-the-beaten-path location made it by far one of the most tranquil places I've ever stayed. I've never felt so relaxed anywhere else. We really... More

We stayed at el sabanero in the middle of the March. This eco lodge is different from big hotels, depends what are you looking for. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cabins very clean. Food was awesome, I felt like eating my mom's homemade dishes. Definitely will come back to eco lodge. All the reviews that I read... More

My wife and I just stayed here during our vacation to Costa Rica from March 5th - March 10th, and let me tell you: THIS IS WHERE YOU WANT TO BE. El Sabanero is not only beautiful, scenic, and affordable, but the staff and owners truly care about each and every one of their guests. Harold and Suzi go out... More

This was our first time in Costa Rica. We flew into San Jose, rented a car and drove about 4 hours to El Sabanero. We wanted to rent a four-wheel drive car but the agency didn't have one available so we got a sedan and had absolutely no problems with it. When we arrived at El Sabnero we were thrilled.... More

A very nice hotel, wooden bungaloes located in a small forest, you can see lots of birds, squarells, even monkeys esp in the early morning, , freindly and nice staff and management, beautifull infinity pool, quite and romantic place. You have to drive to the beach app 15 minutes, hotel provides shuttle, if you rent a car it is a... More

If you are looking to stay close to nature and have some quite time it is a perfect place for you. Best value too. My girlfriends and I stayed in El Sabanero Feb 8-12, 20011. It was a wonderful finale for our Costa Rica tour. The hotel is a natural extension of the natural environment and blends perfectly in the... More

We love Harold and Suzi, the management, the food is to die for (cooked by Suzy and her team) and the private chalets are spotless, perfectly decorated and very privately nestled in the landscaping. I can't say enough about how much we liked our stay here. Tamarindo, Lolas, Joe's - it was all exactly what we hoped for in an... More

I recently spent 6 nights at Sabanero and had a wonderful stay. From the delicious breakfast provided each morning, to the quiet and relaxation of the clean rooms and pool area, to the helpful and friendly staff.
