We are an older couple and love Avellanas we have come here for many years and own a house here but are renting it out long term. We have had some health challenges while here but Debora and Makaily had a Doctor here within half an hour of my wife falling . They also delivered breakfast to our room when... More

Hotel consists of 7 cabinas on edge of forest. Cabins spacious with a/c and wifi,, which is often not working. Serves breakfasts and dinners which are good but fairly small, but not alot of choice elsewhere in playa avellanas. Is quite a distance from the beach, about 20 mins walk, not pleasant in heat of day. Great place to stay... More

Thank you for sharing your experience with others travelers; i apologize for the internet inconvenience, i know was a problem of the whole region for the strong wind we had at the time you got here, damaging the lines everywhere. We try to give the best service we can offer, hoping to let you enjoy your stay More

We planned a one-night stay here, but then returned at the end of our trip for 3 more nights amidst the beautiful surroundings. The first night we had 2 cabinas reserved for our parents and us, but due to a wind storm making some of the units unusable, we all had to stay in one. This was fine, really, as... More

Maua Loa has the most beautiful grounds. This peaceful setting includes a pool, great beds and is super clean. We loved the short walk to the beach and all the resort has to offer. The staff is courteous, helpful and accomodating. A great family place to stay with children!

I spent an entire week at Mauna Loa. It was fantastic! The property is beautiful, and getting prettier all the time. I ate mangoes they picked off of their trees! The cabins were very comfortable, and the a/c was most welcome at the end of the dry season (March). I thought I wouldn't need the pool, but it was perfect... More

We stayed here mainly because it was one of the only places in area that had a pool, but in retrospect we did not use the pool that much, so would have rather stayed somewhere either closer to the beach or with a kitchen. They have one cabina with a kitchen, but it was taken. If you want to keep... More

Thank you for sharing your experience with others travellers. I apologize for the inconvenient about the late open of the restaurant, by the way it was low season and during it we normally keep a reduced opening time. You were not the first asking for a coffee maker or fridge so we are now setting up a shared kitchen to... More

I enjoyed my stay here. The owners and staff were very friendly and were willing to share their experience living in Costa Rica. I was on a trip, looking for places, I might like to retire. Please check out Mario's Seafood Restaurant. My room was fine, I was happy to have some AC. I enjoyed the pool and hammocks. The... More

We stayed here on March 10-12 2014 with our 1 and 4-year old daughters. Our cabin was simple, spacious and clean, and perfect for our family - we did not experience any issues regarding odours or cleanliness noted in other recent reviews. The cabin was right by the lovely pool - our girls particularly liked the bubbling volcano in the... More

We were staying at an all inclusive resort but decided to only eat there once. The rest of the meals we spent our time driving around looking for local restaurants and decided to stop here. The rooms are big and filled with beds, which are ok. The bathroom was so old and worn down!!! It smelled soooo bad! Dear guest, thank you for sharing your opinion with others traveller. I would like to explain you something that you probably don’t know.
