It was an interesting experience to stay there. It's sort of off the beaten path. It is best to have your own transport. Even though they offer some shuttle service. It is a rustic place with a sort of outdoors bathroom. What I did not like was once you closed the door to your balcony the place was sort of... More

A great place to spend your time, but the food in the restaurant is not good, thats the reason for not giving 5 stars. Room: clean, air condition, own balkony, quite, shower with view- extraordinary. Food: fish was average. Only three vegetarian dishes: fries (supercrunchy and hard), vegetables (cooked salad) with rice and noodles with rice (tasted like water and... More

Booked this so called tropical retreat for four nights after reading good reviews in TA and being a TOP CHOICE in Lonely Planet. This place is nicely located inside the forest. Very quiet and peaceful. It may have been the great place to stay. But not anymore. Place is badly running down. Service is bad, horrible food n wifi doesn't... More

The locatipn is great however there is no trail or path close by so this is a nice alternative to staying in the city. The service accomodation and setup is authentic but basic. The sight from "cabin with rainforrest view" is stunningly amazing. Book this if you have the oppertunity. Great place to stay, but not a resort ;)

Our private room with A/C overlooking the rainforest was beautiful and comfortable. It is a quiet atmosphere, a perfect place to relax and read in the hammocks. The staff is very friendly. It is quite difficult to find when you're dropped off in the middle of the night, but we found another nearby hostel, called them, and they picked us... More

Awful experience, we were stolen in the room although we locked it. The owner and the staff were completely helpless: they said it was already the third time in few days but of course they did not inform us in advance.

Stayed 4 nights. All services are good. Meals are tasty. There are free shuttles to Sepilok, orangutan centre and nearby attractions. The only problem is the location, which is not convenient for bird watchers. If you want to go sepilok at 6am or before 9am, you have to reserve a taxi. Otherwise you can take one-hour walk. If you just... More

This is the place to stay if you want a total break from work and outside world. It's nicely located in the forest, with natural surroundings. Nevertheless, the private unit, which me and wife stayed, do provide us with air conditioning and hot water supply. A total forest retreat with the baisc amenities supply, to sum it all.

Lovely jungle getaway. Private aircon rooms much better than dorms If you can splash out. Delicious small family homecooked menu, very fresh. Lots of great communal areas, games, wifi, TV etc. To get here from sandakan, take a taxi approx 30min (40MYR). They have a free return shuttle to get to orang utan sanctuary 5-10min drive away. Recommend 2 nights... More

Just lovely. Not fancy but ticks all the boxes for a comfortable flash packer surrounded by nature stay. I loved it! The outdoor bathroom overlooking rainforest was just divine. Comfortable bed with crisp clean sheets, aircon or fan …. bliss! The sounds of birds in the morning, insects buzzing and so quiet. The food is not the greatest but does... More
