We spent 4 nights here. The Malaysian "chalet" (or what I would refer to as a "bush hut") is basic and no frills, but very comfortable. It had the essentials (aircon and hot water) and was set on the edge of hill over a valley. The view and bird watching was very good. This place seems to support a healthy,... More

This is like a 5* boutique hotel in terms of the accommodation. We had a double bed and bunk bed in our room with just the two of us. Mosquito net was provided, and you will need it up here. The room has an outdoor bathroom and the doors slide open so you can be part of the surroundings if... More

Went to stay a night and loved it. View from the chalet was amazing. It's a rustic place where you can get back to nature. Good to spend a night here if you plan to visit the oranutans and proboscis monkeys

I stayed in the dorm and simply loved it! Beautiful atmosphere and hands down the best dorm I have stayed so far. The hammocks outside the dorm are great to relax and the even have a sundeck with rainforest views. The really offer many goodies you would not expect for that money. Also, great service and good food. Highly recommended... More

Loved it! Beautiful view from the balcony over some dipterocarp forest with many species of birds singing and flying around....in the evening a flock of some 200 white egrets fly past the balcony to their roost site. The wooden chalets are rustic and gorgeous, with a fun outdoor bathroom (complete with view to forest), with all the luxuries you might... More

First off, this accommodation is in the middle of nowhere - there is nothing nearby apart from a park, so is only good for a night or so if you are going to the Orangutans or if you just want a total, total escape. We were only here for an afternoon and evening as we left early in the morning,... More

The place is pretty cool up in the forest and the ridge hut we stayed in was okay. It was clean, nice and big so we have no complains about the actual hut. The staff were very slow and tired. They were very young and they sometimes spend more time singing and playing around than giving the service we payed... More

Having travelled Malaysia extensively, Paganakan Dii is the best budget/backpacker-esque accommodation I have encountered. I loved the authenticity of the buildings, and the setting in the jungle is beautiful and peaceful (even if the drive through the park on entry is a bit tacky, but nothing to do with the resort, I believe). Most backpacker accommodation in Sabah and Sarawak... More

I tend to agree with the reviewers who found the staff unhelpfull, this attitude seemed to be more in evidence if you didnt take trips with them. The breakfast fare was dire, and to charge extra for half a slice of processed cheese, was I think taking the proverbial !! The chalets are OK, if in need of a good clean and... More

Stayed here for 3 nights in Feb 2014. Rooms are clean, comfortable, with mosquito nets and air conditioning and ceiling funs. Heated water for showers. Wifi connection only at restaurant area. A bit slow only. Stuff are helpful. Food is fresh and acceptable. Provide transport to and from Sepilok Orang Utan sanctuary. You can also do a day trip from... More
