A short review, because "Just stay here"! We had an amazing wooden "house/chalet" overlooking the forest with private deck. You felt you were in the forest. Friendly people. Free shuttles to the Orangutan sanctuary and everything easy to organise. Food was good. Very romantic. Amazing outdoor bathroom. The place is well run- they have a winning formula and do it very... We stayed three nights in dorms and it was a very good experience :clean, good food at the restaurant, nice and very helpful staff, free shuttle to Sepilok and back, all these near the jungle. We asked them about Kinabatangan river trip and we did it with mr. Aji, the guide they reccomended - wonderful trip! I really don't have... More

Beautifully designed Eco huts and dorms. A deer park and lake to walk around. Good food, good showers and friendly/helpful staff you can't go wrong. They also do free shuttle buses to nearby attractions (orangotans, rainforest and sun bears) as well as the junction if you ask nicely. Highly recommended

Everything was much better than what I thought. It is a jungle place, raw, and primitive, with mosquitoes and other insects that bite human. I think anyone goes to this kind of place should be aware of it. I liked the sounds of birds and insects. The limited wifi availability and occasional electricity cut were a bit annoying, breakfast was... More

Bathroom The sink tap was thoughtfully encrusted with the previous occupants toothpaste to set off the rust on the very charred wok used as a sink. The bathroom floor had something black and sticky which also matched the charred wok. The sink was atop a very rough, wobbly frame. Especially horrid was green slime in patches on nearly everything, but... More

Paganakan Dii is a charming jungle hostel with basic but comfortable rooms which each have a private balcony with incredible views of the jungle and a private outdoor shower and bathroom. They lay on a daily shuttle bus to the local attractions. The staff are helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our 1 night here. The only downside is the... More

We spent our first 2 nights in Borneo staying here and were really happy. Beautiful surroundings from every angle and cute little chalets to sleep in. We had our own balcony which we sat on for hours just listening to the forest at night - amazing! The food was ok - quite basic but we knew we weren't getting anything... More

After reading the Lonely Planet description we had high hopes for this place ( should have learnt by now!). Really not up to expectations. Our "Superior Chalet" was more like a glorified garden shed. Cheap plywood, cheap fittings and hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. Most of the bedding was stained, dusty floors and a not be very clean... More

Stayed 3 nights in a family chalet (queen bed & 2 bunks) Nicely designed with outside bathroom overlooking bush. Beds very comfortable & room airy with large sliding door opening to deck. Fan & aircon. Restaurant dinner menu limited but adequate. Very helpful staff, who must get tired of answering the same questions day in, day out about orang-utans etc.... More

I wish I could have stayed longer at this place. Stayed in the dorm and I was the only one there. The dorm is huge and very nice (very rustic, but quite clean). There are multiple doors and windows you can open for fresh air/to enjoy the balcony. About half the lights don't work, but just choose a bed with... More
