Just lovely. Not fancy but ticks all the boxes for a comfortable flash packer surrounded by nature stay. I loved it! The outdoor bathroom overlooking rainforest was just divine. Comfortable bed with crisp clean sheets, aircon or fan …. bliss! The sounds of birds in the morning, insects buzzing and so quiet. The food is not the greatest but does... More

This is a really cool, interesting resort that we felt well deserved the'Top Choice in Sepilok' awarded by Lonely Planet. It is very good value for what you get, staff are friendly and the onsite restaurant is simple, but food is cheap and good quality. We would highly recommend. It is worth describing it a little as it might not... More

Bear in mind that I'm scoring this based on the price level offered - it's not luxury by any means although operates at the better end of the backpacker circuit. Stay here if you want to do Sepilok for 1 night or two. I probably didn't realise there was so little to do here after you've done the sanctuary etc.... More

My boyfriend & I stayed in October and were expecting it to be jam packed with people. Instead there were a handful of other people enjoying the peacefulness & the sounds of the jungle. Great food, friendly staff & the free breakfast is a winner. Nb: if you don't like gecko's this might not be the place for you!

The location is perfect, the bungalows are lovely. The price is perfect, only 50 euro for a family room. We forgot our I-phone and I pad charger and they delivered it to the place where we went for 1 night after Lankayan island before heading back to KK. What could be better is the breakfast. Add some fruit and juice... More

To start, this place suffers from a poor location. It is the farthest lodge from Sepilok (about 4 kms away), which means you need to take their free shuttle, rent their mountain bike, walk or get your own taxi to get around. The shuttle only goes at 9:00am and 2:00pm with a return at 4:00pm to match up with the... More

Paganakan Dii is set within the rainforest, but you will have to pass right through Palm Oil plantations to get to the hotel unfortunately (as is the case across pretty much all of Borneo). I'm sure not whether the hotel surroundings are 'true' rainforest but it does certainly look pretty. The rooms themselves are absolutely lovely, we chose one with... More

We had the family chalet on the ridge overlooking the jungle. The accomodation was very basic, but there was aircon and hot water, had mosquito nets over each bed and running water and pretty consistent electricity! Because of the huge gap in the landing on the balcony, we used the front porch bench as a sort of gate so that... More

Really lovely place in the middle of green .. to wake up to birds chirping in the jungle right outside the room is just perfect! Staff was very helpful - got picked up at the crossroad where the bus dropped me off. Daily drop off and pick up to Orangutan-Centre and other stops. Dorm was huge with about 20 beds... More

The route up to Paganakan through an odd, run down park was not terribly auspicious, but from the moment we slid back the wall of the room to reveal the balcony overlooking beautiful green jungle, we were hooked! The open air bathroom was fully functional and really rather fab, a rotation of evening meals are ordered in advance and are... More
