Bathroom The sink tap was thoughtfully encrusted with the previous occupants toothpaste to set off the rust on the very charred wok used as a sink. The bathroom floor had something black and sticky which also matched the charred wok. The sink was atop a very rough, wobbly frame. Especially horrid was green slime in patches on nearly everything, but... More

Paganakan Dii is a charming jungle hostel with basic but comfortable rooms which each have a private balcony with incredible views of the jungle and a private outdoor shower and bathroom. They lay on a daily shuttle bus to the local attractions. The staff are helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our 1 night here. The only downside is the... More

We spent our first 2 nights in Borneo staying here and were really happy. Beautiful surroundings from every angle and cute little chalets to sleep in. We had our own balcony which we sat on for hours just listening to the forest at night - amazing! The food was ok - quite basic but we knew we weren't getting anything... More

After reading the Lonely Planet description we had high hopes for this place ( should have learnt by now!). Really not up to expectations. Our "Superior Chalet" was more like a glorified garden shed. Cheap plywood, cheap fittings and hadn't been cleaned for quite some time. Most of the bedding was stained, dusty floors and a not be very clean... More

Stayed 3 nights in a family chalet (queen bed & 2 bunks) Nicely designed with outside bathroom overlooking bush. Beds very comfortable & room airy with large sliding door opening to deck. Fan & aircon. Restaurant dinner menu limited but adequate. Very helpful staff, who must get tired of answering the same questions day in, day out about orang-utans etc.... More

I wish I could have stayed longer at this place. Stayed in the dorm and I was the only one there. The dorm is huge and very nice (very rustic, but quite clean). There are multiple doors and windows you can open for fresh air/to enjoy the balcony. About half the lights don't work, but just choose a bed with... More

We stayed here as it was part of a tour package we got from KK. The taxi drive from the airport took 40 minutes due to roadworks and costed 65 RN. The hotel is not a luxury retreat if this is what you are looking for; is more like a basic jungle setup, but not exactly an eco camp. The... More

It was an interesting experience to stay there. It's sort of off the beaten path. It is best to have your own transport. Even though they offer some shuttle service. It is a rustic place with a sort of outdoors bathroom. What I did not like was once you closed the door to your balcony the place was sort of... More

A great place to spend your time, but the food in the restaurant is not good, thats the reason for not giving 5 stars. Room: clean, air condition, own balkony, quite, shower with view- extraordinary. Food: fish was average. Only three vegetarian dishes: fries (supercrunchy and hard), vegetables (cooked salad) with rice and noodles with rice (tasted like water and... More

Booked this so called tropical retreat for four nights after reading good reviews in TA and being a TOP CHOICE in Lonely Planet. This place is nicely located inside the forest. Very quiet and peaceful. It may have been the great place to stay. But not anymore. Place is badly running down. Service is bad, horrible food n wifi doesn't... More
