Very convenient location for many attractions, Salisbury Cathedral, Longleat & Stonehenge to name a few, property oozes character and history though is a little tired, rooms are spacious though shower room was very tight with the smallest wash hand basin I've ever seen, breakfast was very pleasant with all the usual bits enhanced by home made preserves & bread. the... We stayed at Maddington House for two nights in the middle of July and had a very pleasant stay. Our room was a good size but the shower room, with hand basin was tiny. However we did have a separate w.c. with a larger hand basin. The decor is a bit dated, but is in keeping with the age of... More

We booked in the morning and said we would arrive around 6pm, we were told there was 3 pubs in the village and assumed we would be able to get a meal (on a Saturday night) at one of them. When we arrived having passed several reasonable restaurants we were told none of the pubs in village did food and... More

We found this place by chance after a late visit to Stonehenge and were very pleasantly surprised! Dick and Joan were very welcoming and the house is beautiful! The bed was comfortable and the breakfast delicious, with homemade jams and eggs cooked to order. Highlly recommended.

We felt very welcome and comfortable with Dick and Joan - although we were only there overnight en route to Marlborough. The decor is in keeping with the period of the house and is charming. We really felt we were sharing their home. Although we are used to larger rooms and bathrooms, these were certainly larger than some other B&Bs... More

We stayed for two nights in this lovely old house. The hosts were very welcoming, the room was clean and tidy and the breakfasts were freshly cooked to order. Although the house is on a pretty busy road, the noise wasn't a problem. And a bonus is somewhere to park one's car off the road. Therewere a few minor concerns... More

Maddington house is ideal for visiting a lot of interesting places, such as Stonehenge, Mere, Salisbury, Milton house, Longleat, and all other houses, manors, castles of SW-Wiltshire. There is a garage next door (no noise), a very good shop at 3 minutes walk. The only problem is the noise of the motorway that starts at 5 o'clock in the morning.... More

We spent 3 weeks driving around England in April 2006, staying at Bed & Breakfasts identified initially through “The Little Green Book” (---), followed by various websites. We aimed for about £25 - £30 per night, with ensuite. By and large, they were all fine, though some were really good, and for these I have provided comments in Trip Adviser... More
