Staying in this Hanok and also in Hahoe Village is for those who wish to spend time in a quiet village, which essentially closes down by 6 pm. The Hanok is traditional with outdoor space for breakfast, which was a choice of traditional Korean or Continental -- on your own for dinner so consider bringing food in or eating before... More

I don't know what happened, but I have this reservation from Nov of 2014, for April 2015.... I got a confirmation, but a week before my reservation date, they told me that it was reserved to another guest???.... I really don't know what happened, to their computer system or something, but it's always recommended for other guests (to be) to... More

Getting to stay in Hahoe village was lovely experience. We got the dinner package and were not disappointed with the quality and service of the entire stay. Plus, the bathroom was one of the nicest I saw on my entire 3-week travels through Korea and Japan. Since there's very little to do in the village after the sun sets, it's... More

The room is in a traditional korean house inside a living museum, where some 200 people live as they would have in Josen times. In reality many own holiday homes there or run small allotments and it's not obvious who does what from looking around. This traditional home has each quarters converted to a B and B room retaining original... More

We stayed here for one night. Don't be scared off by sleeping on the floor. While the outside is traditional, the inside is modern with a wooden soaking tub jacuzzi. Don't miss the Korean sauna in a room filled with lavender. They give you a "pajama" to wear in the sauna. Breakfast was a choice of Korean or western. Good... More

This was my second time staying in Hahoe Village, and Rakkojae was a much more comfortable and relaxing experience than my first visit to Hahoe village when I stayed at a different property. After a full day touring the village and nearby attractions, honestly it was such a relief to have a clean room, internet, refrigerator, and most importantly, an... More

Rakkojae is just opposite the river, which I liked a lot since I got a view of that looking one way and the town itself looking the other way. I was expecting a really traditional kind of room (which obviously is why you come here), so it was a pleasant surprise to see a few mod cons like TV, fridge,... More

This is a pricier option but you are right in the village on the rivers edge so is really well placed. We went in November so it was really starting to chill off but once you are in your ondol heated room you are nice and cosy. A great experience. We were also treated to a sauna in another room... Although it is lovely to stay in Hahoe Folk Village (it is like spending the night in a museum!), this place is overpriced for what it offers. Upon arrival late at night, the first thing the host (who hardly speaks any English) demanded was cash payment for our entire stay. When we didn't have enough cash on us, she told... More

Super location at the edge of the Hahoe village, this hotel offers a unique opportunity to experience lodging in traditional Korean style, though with some modern amenities coming along. Upon arriving the hostess offers tea or juice and asks you what time you'd like to have breakfast the next morning and wether that would be Korean or continental. We chose... More
