We stumbled on La Ghirlanda last summer when driving through Umbria and it was a fantastic find. So we decided to return again this summer and were just as impressed. La Ghirlanda is a stunningly beautiful place, utterly relaxing and tranquil. The attention to detail both in the decor and the furnishing of the house makes it feel very special.... More

We returned in March 2013, after five years, to the captivating Agriturismo La Ghirlanda (“the Garland”). Umbria, slowly stirring from a wet, cold winter, was put in sharp relief by the welcome greeting of house manager, Claudia. She settled us into the warmth and charm of this stylish country villa, a former hunting lodge on a 220 hectare/480 acre estate,... More

This has to be one the best holiday's that I have ever had. My son planned his wedding in the village just down the road and we booked most of the rooms at the villa for the wedding party. What a beautiful peaceful location. The villa was exquisite and just what one would have expected from an grand old Italian... More

It's one of my favourite places in Italy with extremely warm&hospital people. The Count&Contessa who are the owners of La Ghirlanda takes care their clients to feel as their personal guests. I love the place because it is so close to Todi, Orvieto,Perugia, Montefalco. Usually, La Ghirlanda Saragano is our base and we travel around Umbria&Toscany coming back at night... More

This is a beautiful old house which has been lovingly restored by the owners to provide extremely comfortable accomodation. It has the feeling of a house party rather than an hotel as the staff are totally charming and kind with delightful smiles yet unobtrusive and mindful of tranquillity and privacy. It is ideally situated to visit the wonderful hilltop medieval... More

this place is amazing, lovely, perfect. i challenge anyone to find a more romantic spot on planet earth -- the room we stayed in... the super-tasty (traditional and creative at the same time) meals served fist-class on the heavenly terrace. the breathtaking view. the small castle town 3 minutes walk up the road.

La Ghirlanda is a wonderful and comfortable Country Estate, beautifully maintained to preserve the original appearance and structure of the buildings, while bringing in modern design and conveniences. Every room and suites are different in size and decor. We booked the "di Barbara suite".The suite looked bigger in the web but we were pleased with this charming, spacious room with... More

This traditionally furnished Agriturismo is very popular with northern Europeans who spend many hours relaxing around the small swimming pool enjoying the stunning views. Our standard room and en suite were rather small but there was the added bonus of a large balcony with table and chairs. Linen and towels were changed every other day. Breakfast was served inside and... More

La Ghirlanda was an old hunting lodge. Beautifully appointed with lovely furniture and interesting art, it was hard to leave to go sightseeing. We were in the Carlotta room which was light and bright and very clean. Breakfast was plentiful, dinners were varied and delightful. The views from the terraces are breathtaking and time should be set aside daily to... More

Superb hospitality. We were treated as old friends. Except for the food which was much better than that which you would normally give an old friend. That standard of the cuisine was something really special. The location is spectacular and the silence at night preceded by the excellent food and wine ar dinner resulted in us oversleeping. Hope to visit... More
