I have been here quite a few times since the Anne and Gary took over and it seems even better each time I go if that's possible! The food has always been good but my last few visits have been exceptional. The choice of specials varies so there is always something different to look forward to and the "theme" nights... More

This pub is exactly how a pub should be in every way, the new owners really know what they are doing, ambience, atmosphere, service, quality, food, and garden all exceptional, a wonderful experience, thank you.

This is a very nice traditional pub which has recently been redecorated very well, it has a warm relaxing atmosphere with a very nice landlord and lady, each time we have visited the food has been excellent and at a great price. We will definatly be visiting again.

Went here for a meal and couldn't fault it. A really nice atmosphere, friendly landlord & lady, exceptional food at very reasonable prices and good service. We were very impressed, the new landlord & lady have created a very nice and welcoming pub

Following a really very tasteful redecoration, I called in for lunch. For a real village pub, ie., not a gastropub, the food was good, although the choice was limited. That, in itself, is never a bad thing, provided it's done well. The downside was the landlord's reaction to my approach re. the refurbishment was, to say the least, silent. A... More

Dropped in early evening to wait almost ten minutes or more to be served! There was only one person ordering around six drinks in front if us? If the barman went any slower he would have stopped, it was painful to watch. No apology for our wait, when we tried to make cheerful conversation, we had a reply of one... More

Really lovely village pub with log fires, lovely atmosphere, fantastic food at good value prices and excellent service. Dogs are welcome - always a bonus for us and friendly new landlord & landlady made us very feel very welcome. Quite different to a previous visit couple of years ago! Will definately be back.

The pub has been recently refurbished and the inside is very pleasant, some comfy sofas as well as dining tables. Log fire and new carpet warms the place up a bit. Really good ham, egg and chips, and my husband said his mixed ham and cheese ploughmans was the best he'd had in a long time. 3 different cheeses and... More

Stopped here for a drink and food during a stay in Probus village in October. Scrummy home cooked food, clearly the new landlord & landlady who have taken it over in the last few months are really making this place a 'must visit'. A traditional village pub, friendly and welcoming - not trendy. Lovely log fire too. We will return!

Stopped here purely by accident on the way home from a weekend in Truro, SO glad we did. All four of us fancied a roast which is what they do on a Sunday, took our dog and the nice landlord gave him a bonio! The landlords have only been there about three months, think they've got it right! £7.95 for... More
