We talked to one of the sons on the phone before we got to the train station, he picked us up to the guest house, and before that he helped us booking the ticket to Kandy in the train station which was really helpful. The room we stayed was huge, its clean and basic, theres hot shower as well,it was little bit... More

White monkey is located cca 3km from the town. This is only inconvenience but there is always tuktuk waiting to give you a ride. Guesthouse is located at lovely place on the middle of tea plantation. Rooms are basic but spacious and clean. The best part is family running this place. Farina is a wonderful cook, kids are adorable and... More

Stunning views, clean and big rooms, hot water, lovely family, good food! The guesthouse is located in a rural area along a mountain ridge in the middle of tea fields. Good base for a trip to Liptons seat

We have been four people travelling together and stayed in Dias Rest for two nights. This is a perfect stay for budget travellers: family welcome, possibility of chat with the hosts (this was where we finally understood the rules of cricket game!), delicious food, and touch with nature. This is one of those unforgettable places you remember for years!

I'm a graduate volunteer travelling Sri Lanka and with price always being the issue its always quite risky to go for cheap option. However, this is the nicest place me and my friends have ever stayed, comfortable and basic, really suited to a budget traveller. Incredible views from the rooms and around the grounds of the hostel. The family goes... More

We stayed in this guesthouse for two nights, and had a wonderful stay. If you are looking for a luxury hotel with super clean rooms you might have to look further, but if you like to stay in a basic guesthouse with an amazing view, great food and lovely people, I would definitely recommend this place. We did not have... More

Dias and his family welcomed us into his home with open arms, they were super friendly and really helpful with ideas to visit the local area. Their home is 3km outside Haputale and the view is fantastic, with the rolling hills of the tea country poking out through the mist as far as the eye can see. We went on... More

We really really enjoyed this place! The view was excellent, the food was delicious and the family was very good spirited, helpful, humorous and honest. People should be aware that the area around Haputale generally has very shifty weather and that it can get very windy and also rainy from time to time. We didn't mind that but thought it... More

Awesome. That was my first impression. The landscape is amazing. This family runs a cosy guesthouse in a tea estate. There is so much nature and wildlife all alround. Lot of fruit trees, wild monkeys and birds. They have a perfect view to Lipton Seat and some tea factories. But also to the south coast and the big lake at... More

The family seemed ok, I can see why others liked them. The father of the family welcomed us warmly with some food and tea, but I noticed him shoo his wife away after she'd brought in the tea. The rest of the family seemed cross and a bit unfriendly. The hut re-defines the word basic - it is like a... More
