We anchored in the nearby anchorage and really enjoyed the restaurant. Better than any other meal we had on Raiatea, Tahaa, or Bora Bora. French style. Really nice people. Great food. Nice location overlooking the motu and reef. the hotel looked good too, but we were sleeping on our boat. We will always plan to go bakc here for a... More

Our travel agent in New Zealand booked us into this hotel when we told him we wanted to go to Raiatea. As it turned out accomodation was hard to find due to a windsurfing event and he came back to us with Fare Vai Nui which was 20kms out of Uturoa. We wondered what we would be going to. However,we... we were anchored just offshore and came in for dinner on recommendation of our charter company. Did not disappoint - great staff, wonderful wine list, excellent food with lots of variety - fish, boar, pork, beef - something for everyone.!

We'd booked the night after a 10-day sail to stay until the next day's flight to Papeete. The hotel at which we'd booked, Hawaiki Nui, had unexpectedly closed and we were potentially three homeless couples in Raiatea! Our sailboat charter company hastily made reservations for us here at Fare Vai Nui. What a find! Jean-Jacques picked us up at the... More

Incredible culinary experience! 4 foodies from Sydney and Melbourne unanimously voted this family run business Best Restaurant in Raiatea. After anchoring our catamaran and snorkelling over the coral reef we decided to explore the opportunity enjoying a meal at Fare Vai Nui as it had been highly recommended by many business owners in Raiatea. Even though the restaurant was closed... More

I came to Tahiti on a relaxing trip by myself for 8 days. I was not sure what to expect. Raiatea is a quiet island with no resorts, only small hotels. So I looked at the reviews on the few hotels on the island and Fare Vai Nui was rated the best. Every review I read raved about the hospitality... More

We had been sailing so we were not needing a bed but we were looking forward to a night ashore. Jean Jaques welcomed us at the little jetty. Our table was set up and waiting for us. The open terrace provided us with a good view and we noted an enclosed area for more private dinning. Soon after we were... More

We had 5 beautiful days in Raiatea mainly due to the wonderful hospitality of Jean Jacques and his wife Chantal. The location is quiet and peaceful. The acomadations are very clean and beautifully built wooden bungalows. We had daily fresh fruit and pastries for breakfast and dined from a wonderfully cooked duck to the best crabs I've tasted in years!... More

Really amazing food, extremely comfortable, and very attentive hosts. Jean Jacques is the owner and he always made sure we were enjoying ourselves. Make sure to do a day trip to Tahaa one of the days and to snorkel on the reef outside of Fare Vai Nui. Diving is a must as well.

The owner Jean Jacques and his wife are great at asking each day how they can help you do the adventure you want to do on Raiatea or off-island. His wife cooks great food from fresh ingredients from their Garden and the ocean each day. He also has fantastic wine from France. His wife has homemade desserts that my daughter... More
