We came to Hotel Alga for the second time and it didn't let us down! The Hotel is in a great location with a 2 minute walk to the beach where there are lots of cafes and restaurants. The Hotel has great facilities including a big swimming pool, a Rackets Court a restaurant, a table tennis table and a small... More

We considered ourselves lucky to stay here. The pool, grounds, and outdoor amenities surpassed expectations. The rooms were very bareboned, and the shower's hot water was a tad intermittent. We had trouble figuring out the a/c, it would just stay on all night and not shut off when it reached temperature. You're better off not using the a/c. The service... More

This is an old renovated hotel, and it shows: some of the renovations are well done, but in other ways it still feels very dated. The grounds (gardens, pools, etc.) are fabulous! But if you're unlucky enough to get one of the rooms facing away from them, you're stuck with a view of the parking lot. The restaurant leaves much... More

Why is this hotel rated only second in Calella? We have stayed in several hotels in Calella but since we first stayed in the Alga we would not consider using any other. From the moment you walk into reception the welcome is evident. The staff are courteous, cheerful and helpful. The food is excellent and varied. Out side there is... More

Managed to get last minute booking for a Saturday night in August when ŵe were driving back to France. Overall really pleased as the hotel was very nice with great grounds and pool area. They were happy to accept our small (well behaved) dog as well. There wasn't parking available when we arrived at 8.00 pm which was a pity,... More

The good – Classy, elegant, kid friendly/family hotel with 2 pools – 25m for the swimmers + a busy, friendly kiddie pool. Extensive shaded gardens with loungers, kids play park w chute, swings, tennis court. 5 minutes walking from the town centre down the hill. Big choice continental buffet breakfast, with added Brit beans & scrambled eggs, buffet quantity over... More

So this is a sixties hotel that in areas is really showing its age, but once you have got over the fact that the rooms are cosy (or bijou !!) then everything else is great. The location is wonderful - a stroll in Llafranc takes twenty minutes along a wonderful coastal path, or ten if you go by the roads.... More

This hotel is situated just a few minutes from several idyllic beaches, and is surrounded by beautiful gardens. It has two pools - one swimming pool and one children's pool. The rooms are light and modern, some of them recently renovated. Breakfast is excellent. Dinner is outstanding.

Do not be fooled by the road side view of this hotel. Once inside the hotel is immaculate, we had a garden/sea view room with a lovely balcony over looking lovingly tended gardens. The pool is large and heated ( no sun umbrellas ) this didn't matter we just moved our loungers under the beautiful pine trees. The breakfast was... More

Only complaint is that pool didn't open until 11am. No chance of a swim before going out for the day as was the plan. Very good staff, location etc. would happily stay there again, unless I found an hotel with a swimming pool that was more user friendly.
