My wife and I visited the Buck Hotel a few weeks ago. We found it lived up to its name. Very dog friendly. The dog even had biscuits for breakfast. A lovely couple ran it. The food was great, excellent walking country. The other pubs in the village were equally dog friendly. Looking forward to a return visit. DickH

Lovely stay at the Buck on a busy July weekend. Room clean, comfortable, cheerful and spacious. Staff welcoming, attentive and friendly. Breakfast was standard fare with generous portion sizes. Ate dinner in bar both nights, enjoying the busy pub atmosphere and tasty pub fare. Good Yorkshire inn in a lovely location, would happily return.

Here in the gorgeous town of Reeth, the Buck commands a view over the market Square. It has some of the best priced accommodation in the place,a friend coming over from darlington was well pleased at the bargain price for a last minute booking. The place seems to go all out for the tourist trade, and is well prepared for it. Meals... More

First came across this place a year ago. Whilst on a short break in Leyburn we spent a day exploring the area, found this little gem, called in for nice sandwich and a welcoming pint. It obviously left an impression because when we knew we were staying in the area again, this place came straight to mind. Stayed two nights... More

This hotel has recently been taken over and when we stayed there did seem to be some issues with service but overall we were happy with our stay. The room was fine and the location is great as a base for walking .We had a drink in the other two pubs in the village and in our view the bar... More

Having wandered around Reeth we opted to dine in the evening at The Buck Inn. Initial indications were good, the beer was fine, though the bar staff seemed a little disorganised at times. We ordered two steaks which duly came: a piece of meat, five or six chips stacked up a misguided attempt at artistry and some tomatoes on the... More

We have stayed at the Buck on a number of occasions - mainly for the Swaledale marathon and it has always been superb. On this occasion the room we had was excellent - spacious, scrupulously clean, very nice bathroom with lovely large fluffy towels which were changed each day. My concern is with the organisation in the dining room -... More

We met friends here for dinner after walking C2C. Staff was very kind and helpful with a large crowd of people. Dinner was great. We enjoyed our spacious room and bath. Breakfast was just okay but the service was once again friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was a bit untidy as though from events the previous day.

While our one night here did not wow us like a number of other place we stayed along our C2C it pleasant enough. The room was good, small but clean. We did have a quick dinner in the pub, we had pizza and was quit good. The service was by no means very friendly but was efficient. Breakfast the following... More

Previously, this was the best pub in Reeth, but our first visit after the recent change of management has shown a downward change in the service also. It now appears to be more sales-orientated, in that instead of being able to simply sit and enjoy one's beer(s), there appears now to be a clear push towards food sales. Whilst enjoying... More
