We’ve been in Cakalang from November 4th till 17th. It’s a very friendly and relaxing place, nice and clean bungalows and the staff is very friendly and helpful. If necessary they arrange transport from the airport to the Island. The food is very good and every day something else on the menu. In the evening a lot of local people... More

What I love the most about Cakalang Bunaken is the warm and friendly atmosphere. I still remember all the smiley "Hello" that I got from the staffs as soon as I reached there. People who work there were so genuine and always seemed to be happy. Meals were provided 3x a day, and arranged on a long table where everyone... More

Simple but very comfortable rooms, with many plugs, a very clean bathroom, several windows looking at the mangrove just in front of the bungalow. Food was simply delicious. Really. And then, we went diving with Jimmy. He was patient with us. All the staff were so nice, Ferdinand, Julie, the people in the kitchen... Everything was super clean, the kitchen,... More

Had a fabulous week at Cakalang, Julie was absolutely fantastic in arranging transfers from Manado which really streamlined the ease in getting there. Ferdinand was a great host and the diving was superb. They catered for all levels of divers, and if experienced you weren't grouped with beginners which I enjoyed. Dives were long and not rushed or time limited.... More

The food here is great and they cater yo vegetarians. There is always sufficient and everyday there will be something else on the menu :-) If it was for the food I would rate it "excellent". The corals and it's habitants are fantastic on this side of the island and the nice thing about Cakalang is that they are open... More

This is a really great place to stay and explore the island and its corals. Owner Ferdinand (Dutch) has an excellent diving school. The coral in front of the resort is ideal for snorkelling en spotting sea turtles. Plus drinking cool Bintangs at night with Ferdinand, the other guests and some locals. Great stuff!

I've just finished five days stay in cakalang which included the advanced open water dive course. The staff and instructors were all fantastic, very patient and knowledgeable. Felt very safe when diving and was able to go at my own pace. The food and accommodation were also very good. We could never finish all the food provided and every night... More

I did my PADI open water course here. Ferdinand was a good and patient instructor, making it a very pleasant experience. The diving sites are of great quality, beautiful corals, reefs, many fish and huge turtles. From the boat we could even see dolphins! The staff and owners are really friendly, always in for a chat and a laid-back atmosphere.... More

This is my second year diving here and it feels like coming home every time I visit. Last year I thought I would do 5 or so dives and ended up staying almost a month and ~ 60 dives. Clean, personal and great food with fresh fish everyday. The Dutchman (Ferdinand) and his Indonesian wife, Julie are always there to... More
