There are a few resorts/ hotels in the Bunaken Island, which is supposed to be one of the best dive sites in the EAST. Most of the resorts/hotels are in very bad condition and charge high prices. Cicak Senang is run by an European lady. It has only eight bungalows, which are tastefully furnished and located. The resort is situated... More

We are just back from a fantastic week’s holiday at Cicak Senang and already want to go back! Hopefully next year! What’s great about Cicak Senang is that it doesn’t feel like an impersonal resort at all, but instead has a very relaxing homely vibe thanks to its very friendly owners - a lovely Dutch lady called Willeke and her... Willeke, the owner, and her staff were very friendly and helpful in accommodating all our needs. We were traveling Indonesia for my in-laws 40th wedding anniversary. Willeke went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Food was really good, especially the fish satay. We stayed in the last bungalow on the hill. It was quiet, a nice breeze at... More

Managed by a lovely Dutch owner, you can expect great service and a laid back atmosphere. Since the arrival we received a warm welcome, which included a nice lunch. The employees took our bags to the room which was nice considering that the resort is build up the hill. After the first night we figured that the mattresses where getting... More

We decided to stay at cicak senang after having met Willeke on the public boat from Manado. We didn't compare the guesthouse with other places on the island, but we had a very pleasant stay. Willeke is a great host and the food is delicious. We found the price a bit steep for simple accommodation. The bungalows are lovely, beautiful... More

Great place to stay, I had a private comfortable bungalow with an elevated view over the south coast. Because there is a total of only five bungalows this place has a welcoming feel about it and Willeke the owner and her staff are always helpful and friendly. The diving was excellent, a lot of the best dives in Bunaken are... More

The owner, Willeke, was a nice lady and fairly offered the room rate with quick-response email. No disatisfaction. She arranged port pick and drop-off with cheap prices. She also suggested us to join other's group so that we could have cheaper snorkeling trip. And the food, she had a local cook that served us delicious meals 3 times a day... More

In contrary to what is written in the Lonely Planet, this side of Bunaken offers you the best views and is definitely the better side of the island. The resort is owned by Willeke and we immediately felt like home upon arrival. As Bunaken mainly attracts divers, we did our PADI course here and couldnt have made a better decision... More

It’s hard to imagine a place with better value for money than Happy Gecko on Bunaken. The location of Happy Gecko Resort is very good with fantastic snorkeling just off the beach. As there are only five bungalows (all have sea views), the place is pretty quiet and has a laid back atmosphere. The wooden bungalows are simple but spacious... More

This place is run by a Dutch owner, who tries to help out with anything you need. It's all inclusive, the food is pretty good. They try to serve some different every day. At the same time I found the diving center not that professional. Some of the equipment is run down and needs to be replaced. The atmosphere at... More
