My husband and I have stayed there for two nights (Pinna 1). And it was the worst hotel we have stayed in Ethiopia. We definitely can not recommended it. First it was rather neglected and dirty . There were cockroaches in bedroom. The bathroom and towels weren’t clean, too. Second the staff ( I mean the receptionists) weren’t completely keen... More

We ended up not staying at the Hotel Pinna due to the noise, and there were problems with 2 of the rooms showers. One smelled like sewage. The management at the Hotel were accommodating and did not charge us for the night and promised to correct the problems with the showers. It is located right on a busy street, and... More

An Ethiopian friend advised us to visit this hotel. We were told that it is a fair price for a good location. Indeed, when you are at the hotel, you are right in the middle of Awasa town. Awasa was a nice town to visit but the real attraction is the lake. The atmosphere at the boulevard is unique for... More

From time to time service in hotel pina becomes degraded. The buildings are not renovated specially the Pina 1 and the building of the new one is so degraded with in short period. I was in the hotel for for a week in novemeber 2012 and three days in March 2012 and desapointed by the service and as well as... More

Hotel is located at the main street in Awasa, so don't expect silent night. The rooms are OK, but all this place is gasping for a little "refreshement". I happened to see one or two cockroaches in my bathroom but at least water was hot and towels looked quite clean. The good thing is they have free WiFi, which is... More

Stay on the Lake, that's why you came. Forget downtown as it's not that great. Base rooms not very good at all and suite expensive @ 1400 birr, and while nice, is on front where street noise is an issue. Next door restaurant had good service and good meals. Free high speed wifi internet was nice though.

Awasa is the logical overnight stop if you are travelling to Arba Minch from Addis Ababa using public transport. There are 2 Pinna hotels, Pinna 1 and Pinna 2, located on either side of the restaurant. Pinna 1 is older and less expensive, Pinna 2 is new, and more expensive. I stayed at Pinna 1. The hotels are located on... More
