I’ve stayed in a few hotels in Austria and this one unfortunately hasn’t fully satisfied my expectations. The building itself is lovely- it’s an old, completely rebuilt monastery and a comfort of sleeping is good, it’s a silent place with comfortable beds. Staff, mostly Slovak, is friendly yet a bit reluctant, there should be more dutiful management, I think. Food... More

Lovingly converted kloister right at the Danube river, friendly and attentive staff, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets had a large selection and the food was excellent. The rooms are roomy to say the least, their design is understated and elegant with great attention to detail. I stayed two days, one night for a training course and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Hainburg, which overlooks the Danube, is the last city in Eastern Austria, Its castle and incredible history attracts visitors from all over the world. After being caught in a heavy rainstorm whilst cycling through the Danube Valley from Vienna, our party of five pensioner cyclists were intent on discovering more about another of its historical attractions - the Hotel Altes... This wonderful modern and luxurious conversion of a fine old building combined with faultless service, a very good restaurant and a delightful location makes this a hotel to remember. Outstanding even amongst many excellent Austrian hotels. Highly recommended.

Walking from the S7 train station in Hainburg (handy 40 min. from the Vienna Airport new underground railway station) did not prepare me for the experience!. A stern large monastery building looming over the bank of Danube. It turned out to be a tastefully renovated hotel using the old structures of the monastery. My room was beautifully light and spacious... More

Went to this hotel for a 2-day meeting with international colleagues. Nice atmosphere, good service, good food, clean and large rooms, everything in this very specific atmosphere of the old cloister. Good place to just focus on the work that needs to be done. At 40 minutes train from Vienna airport.

Beautiful place to stay. It is in a very relay atmosphere. Very nice rooms and good place to have meetings. Also nice environment to go jogging in the morning. The food is good but after a few days you are looking for something else.

A beautiful hotel in a restored/converted cloister. You really get the feeling you're in a cloister. The staff is very friendly, the restaurant is very good and the rooms are large and very clean. There's a nice courtyard outside the main entrance and there's lots of parking available.

Whenever I'm driving to the Vienna airport I try to stop here for a quick drink. The bar/restaurant are right next to the reception, they are all friendly (most of them are from Slovakia) and the inner courtyard is cool. You can also walk outside towards Donau and if you enter the museum, there's a great view over the river.
