Hotel Altes Kloster in Hainvburg is the right place for beautiful stay next to the Danube river but also great place for celebrating. Outside of the restaurant is the place for siting and have a good time. The food and cattering here is on the high niveau. The whole object is located i the heart of the aol austrian village... I stayed here on the first night of a two part self guided bike trip from Passau Germany to Budapest. The building is very old, hence no air conditioning. Nevertheless the rooms are modern and spacious. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful going so far as to offer to walk me to afoot place to eat

We wanted to have a calm weekend and therefore this hotel was a good choice. The monastery has been modernized in a very nice way, but it still retains the old character. Our double-room was on the first floor, quite big and I really liked the open bathroom. We've also spent quality time in the spa and enjoyed it. The... More

Wonderful location: old monastry dated 1200, very well restored and situated in a small village along the Donau river. It is 40km far from Wien airport (40 minutes by train) and 15km from Bratislava. The train station is only 5 minutes walking from the hotel. Rooms have beautiful modern design furnitures, although not perfectly functional in some details. Breakfast offers... More

If you are planning to visit Haimburg or anywhere near there, do yourself a favor and stay at the Altes Kloster. It is a quaint hotel in an east Austrian village with some of the very best service I have ever had at a hotel. In my life I have stayed in Ritz Carlton's and Peninsula Hotels in many cities... Very nice and comfortable hotel to stay. Friendly service. Very clear and design rooms in a 17th century building changed to 4-star hotel . The food is fresh and good. Great to stay for a seminar. About 30 minutes from Vienna by car.

I’ve stayed in a few hotels in Austria and this one unfortunately hasn’t fully satisfied my expectations. The building itself is lovely- it’s an old, completely rebuilt monastery and a comfort of sleeping is good, it’s a silent place with comfortable beds. Staff, mostly Slovak, is friendly yet a bit reluctant, there should be more dutiful management, I think. Food... More

Lovingly converted kloister right at the Danube river, friendly and attentive staff, breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets had a large selection and the food was excellent. The rooms are roomy to say the least, their design is understated and elegant with great attention to detail. I stayed two days, one night for a training course and thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Hainburg, which overlooks the Danube, is the last city in Eastern Austria, Its castle and incredible history attracts visitors from all over the world. After being caught in a heavy rainstorm whilst cycling through the Danube Valley from Vienna, our party of five pensioner cyclists were intent on discovering more about another of its historical attractions - the Hotel Altes... This wonderful modern and luxurious conversion of a fine old building combined with faultless service, a very good restaurant and a delightful location makes this a hotel to remember. Outstanding even amongst many excellent Austrian hotels. Highly recommended.
