We stay there for 4 nights and it was great. The rooms are small but most have a view towards the ocean. The rooms are clean. There is no restaurant in the hotel but a bar which serves pastries, beverages and coffee and tea from 16:30 to 19:30 in the evening. When the sun is suing you can sit on... More

La Hague in Cotentin is about as far you can get away from the French tourist hordes in July, then Port Racine is a jewel of a port (the smallest in France), then l'Erguillere is the only (small) hotel on site overlooking it. Make sure to reserve the few 2nd floor rooms with unobstructed sea view, be awakened by the... More

We had 3 fantastic days at the hotel. The room was lovely. We booked late and had a garden room but it was lovely. The terrace is a lovely place to breakfast and enjoy the view. Nicholas is a great host. We found the attention to detail superb and nothing was too much trouble. The area is beautiful. Definitely worth... More

This little hotel gave us everything we were looking for, peace and quiet, home-from-home coastal views and a wonderful host. Don't go if you're looking for all the frills of a 5 star city hotel but do go if you like walking, isolation and natural beauty. Thanks a million Nicolas!

The hotel is really well placed on the seaside and easy to get there once you have your maps pointed at the smallest port in France (Port Racine). Sometimes when you see such beautiful pictures in a so far away place u kind of doubt it. I am here to write that it is true, all true. The rooms are... More

I was lucky enough to chose this fantastic small hotel for a 2 night stay over my birthday. It's set in a very pretty corner of Normandy with a perfect small harbour (Port Racine) directly bellow the hotel. The owners & staff are very welcoming and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with a window open directly onto the coast,... More

The hotel overlooks Port Racine, the smallest port in France, and also a beautiful bay and pastures. It's unique. The scenery around the hotel is so beautiful it's mesmerizing. I gazed at the view from my room, my breakfast table, and the terrace, where I enjoyed late afternoon drinks (the bar opens at 4pm--it may be open earlier, but I... More

splendid hotel but don't tell anyone! Too good to share. suffice to say that everything was perfect but if we must share anything it would be the breakfast and the sea view. good starting point for coastal path walking and a visit to Jacques prevert's house is a must. ignore joke comments on the gym and the restaurant which don't... What a beautiful place with a marvelous view over the bay. The whole atmosphere is so quiet and relaxing, and Nicolas Chanu makes you very welcome. As well as offering to make restaurant reservations, he even recommended a good restaurant in Versailles. Breakfast is very good - the bread being excellent.

L'Erguillère‎ is a fancy, very good inn rather than a regular hotel. Let's start with (potential) inconveniences. The opening hours of the reception are pretty short, and the hotel itself closes at 8pm (you'll be given a code to access the back door.) There's no minibar nor fridge in the room and the hotel's café closes early – forget about... More
