Every time we travel through the north of France we try to plan our trip so we can stay here. Great reception, comfortable rooms and a very good restaurant sum up the place. The town of Joinville itself is a normal provincial French rural town, old center, nice river, bigger enterprises and stores, in that typical corrugated beige cladding, at... More

This area is particularly devoid of decent hotels, so when we just came upon this gem, we were beside ourselves. In a small French town, run by a Belgian, with a superb restaurant. We did not stay in the annex but in the main building and the room were were appointed was just beautiful, with a huge exposed old beam,... More

Dinner was very good, maybe a little too sophisticated, but I really enjoyed both service and quality. The room was nicely sized, and lots of comfort... Nothing to criticize. I recommend for both business and pleasure, week or weekend....

This hotel-restaurant really needs two separate reviews: one for the hotel, and another for the restaurant. The restaurant is phenomenal, while the hotel is rather average. RESTAURANT: Michelin-starred, and deserving of it. My group of about 25 people enjoyed a perfectly-executed seven-course meal. The service was impeccable, especially for such a large group -- everyone received their plates at the... More

Beautiful setting in an old French town. Run by a nice (Flemish) Belgian. Probably best to avoid the annex as it is either unfinished or needs more work. We were charged €110 for the night in the annex plus €20 for breakfast but were allowed to have our dog stay for free. There was a niggling doubt about whether we... More

The hotel lobby is lovely stone with a fireplace for cooler months. We had no reservation do to a mix up on my part so paid the rack rate of 75 Euro for the cheapest room in the place. Walking up the stone steps through the brightly lit breakfast room arrival at the stairs to our room brought a distinct... More

The hotel is a good, comfortable place to spend a night, with clean rooms with good bathrooms. But the star of this establishment, quite literally, is the restaurant. The food, here, is among the best, if not entirely the best that I have had the pleasure of enjoying. It is a gastronomic delight, a feast for the senses, with no... More

We spent a very pleasant night at this hotel and enjoyed one of the most outstanding dinners we have ever had. Each of the seven courses was paired with a wonderful wine and the presentations were works of art. We understand that Michelin took back their star. What were they thinking?! This place deserves two!

This hotel has a nice restaurant and seems to be the nicest hotel in Joinville. We chose to stay in this town because of the chateau that belonged to the relations of Mary Queen of Scots.

We stayed here for 1 night in late September. Our room was clean, warm and enough space to lay out the suitcase. The bathroom could do with some modernisation but it was clean and functional with lots of hot water. We had our meal in the restaurant. It was excellent. This hotel doesn't have all the modern features of a... More
