As students travelling on a budget Fernlea B&B was a little higher than our usual price range, but once we saw the photo of Benji (the owners' handsome golden retriever) we knew we had to try it - and it was worth every precious penny! The room was beautiful, immaculately clean and very spacious, as was the bathroom (you could... More

We recently stayed here on a motorbiking trip around Scotland, and Fernlea was just what we needed. Iris could not have been more helpful. We even got local knowledge about where to go, and what roads would be good on the bike :) Room was great, and had a huge bathroom. Just what two big guys with loads of biking... More

Iris and John are the best hosts. We reached Fernlea after 4 hours of journey, we were made very comfortable by Iris and John. Room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and fulfilling. I will definitely stay here again. Note: Fernlea signboard was not easily visible. It is on your left hand side if you are travelling from Kyle of... More

Iris and John are wonderful hosts who make their guests feel like family friends. On arrival Iris showed us to our room and then gave us tea and homemade muffins in the lounge in front of a welcoming roaring fire. Throughout the evening John came in to the lounge to stoke the fire and chat and we felt perfectly at... More

Stumbled on this bed and breakfast on a trip to Skye in September what a find. Spotlessly clean well decorated homely friendly chat from the owners dog friendly and little touches in the room that you would only expect in a 3* + hotel really cant fault it and will make a point of going back to Skye just to... The Tourist office in Inverness booked us a night at the Fernlea and we were extremely pleased with the house, the room, the hospitality, and the owners. Upon arrival, John greeted us as he was cutting the lawn, and he took us inside to meet Iris. She offered us delicious tea and muffins and showed us to our room, which... More

John and Iris are excellent hosts. The house is quaint and has a great view of the water. It's clear that the hosts like what they do and they care about their guests. John is a character and is very helpful with tips about the area, and tells a great story.

I stayed here for three nights in June while on Skye for business. I was given a lovely big, comfy room, which although was not en-suite, had its own private bathroom. Iris and John were lovely and couldnt do enough to make the stay as pleasant as possible. The view from the room was amazing as well, and I was... More

Our teenage boys say Skye was their favorite place of the 10 days in Scotland and 18 days in Ireland. That is because of John and Iris. Their welcome is so warm and they are so helpful and patient. The rooms are clean, large, pretty, and have every convenience. Even flowers on the dressing table. The setting is beautiful and... More
