John and Iris are very friendly, welcoming hosts who made our stay a highlight of our trip. The view from the bedroom windows was worth climbing the stairs for. Thanks John for carrying the suitcases upstairs for us. Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. The private bathroom was very large, with every need supplied. The visitors... More

We stayed for 3 nights and felt that this was a wonderful b and b experience. Very comfortable room, plus a very spacious guest lounge room. Cosy fire lit for us each evening. Hosts more than generous in sharing knowledge and stories of the island.

We have traveled all over Scotland and Fernlea was by far the best B&B that we stayed at during our trip. John and Iris make you feel so comfortable the minute you are greeted at the door. The rooms are updated, beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. Some of our favorite additions included wifi, a game room and delicious... More

Many thanks to John and Iris for being such friendly and welcoming hosts. Comfortable room, great wi-fi for free (essential to the business traveller these days), all my needs catered for. Superb cooked breakfast both days.

Seven glorious days on Skye and a b&b to match. The owners (Iris and John) are so welcoming, very helpful and John cooks an excellent breakfast. The location is superb - looking out over the Inner Sound and the Cuillins, not to mention the smaller islands off Skye's east coast. Great location for bird-watching and (if you have a telescope)... We stayed at Fernlea for two nights on a visit to Isle of Skye. We stayed at quite a few places on this trip and this has to be the best place in terms of value for money and highly recommended for the quality. The room was excellent, the lounge was comfortable but what made the difference were the hosts... More

The room was excellent and the owners very friendly. The only issue was the location - it is a fair walk or taxi ride into Broadford, but this may not be a concern for all.

We stayed for 2 nights, the first night Iris told us about places to have a dinner, and both Iris and John were so kind... they told us about Skye, places to visit, and so many things that increase our knowledge of Skye... From the first night when we arrived, we had a welcoming cup of tea and scones in... More

I do not as a rule follow up visits with a review, however in the instance my family, were welcomed with service and friendship never met before in a B & B. From the start a welcoming cup of tea and scones were offered, this service continued on each return. During the evening you could relax in front of an... More

My wife and I enjoyed 5 nights at this great Guest House just 4 miles from the Skye Bridge in a nice location in Upper Breakish, I greatly enjoyed the ample Scottish Breakfasts and the wife was delighted with the choice of kippers on the menu. The bedrooms were excellent with comfy beds, television, central heating and a more than ample... More
