We booked this hotel as my partner and I were attending the Yamaha off-road school in the local vicinity and this was one of the recommendations. What can I say - James (manager/owner) was very charming, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble - had great advice and looked after us the whole weekend. James has only owned the... If you read previous reviews for the Mount Inn you wouldn't visit but you would be missing out! They have a new landlord and things have changed. This is a lovely homely pub and the food, well all I can say is I had the cow pie and ive not had anything to eat as nice as this for a... More

Arrived Sunday afternoon to a closed Mount Inn, luckily the owner was cycling about and found us panicking, knocking at the back door and ringing the telephone inside with our mobile. The room was merely somewhere to stay for 2 nights whilst we visited the Royal Welsh show. It was in an annex across the carpark, a double with a... More

It's not terrible as such, it's just so lacklustre... and so overpriced. The hostel-style rooms are in an annexe block across the car park, and overshadowed by an oversized, unoccupied development (owner's retirement home?). Breakfast was frugal - advance notice of vegetarianism yielded no special effort to provide any alternative - and included instant coffee disguised in a coffee pot,... More

Stayed here for two nights as the location was perfect for our needs. Didn't try the evening meal but the breakfast was ok if a little basic. The rooms in a separate annex are spacious a bit dated but good, basic accomodation. Word of caution though. Make sure you get some written conformation of the agreed room price or you... More

Spacious clean room. Fresh, crisp white bed linen. Can't really ask for more but I did! I had forgotten to pack a hairdryer, which was happily provided. As was hot radiators for when our very wet walk had finished! Happy to recommended.

Popped in for lunch en route back to Cardiff from Abersoch. We were warmly welcomed by the owner and he looked after us very well during our lunch. Fairly standard pub fayre, well presented and nicely cooked. Thanks.

We were looking for a quiet place in central Wales, close in to a village so we could stop driving so much and this was perfect. It's a bit worn and eccentric but what do you expect in a small village in Wales? If you want a Holiday Inn, this is not it. Off-season, so there were only a couple... More

At £30 per person seems a bit steep ( over £60 for a double room) Place was friendly and clean and comfy beds, nice bar excellent beer. Llandiloes was odd though, on a friday everything seemed to close at 10pm. Leaving one pub and a kebab shop open. But in all a nice place to stay friendly people, great beer.... More

We called to see whether they were open for lunch and were warmly welcomed. (We had called there a couple of weeks ago and sadly they had an unexpected problem and were unable to serve us ... such a shame as the only place that was open in Llanidloes that day served a pretty poor meal with an indifferent attitude.)...
