We keep coming back to the Pelican, and it has become our favourite place to eat in the area. The food never disappoints, the staff our attentive and we will continue to keep going back. P.s the chicken and Ham pie was the best I have ever had.

Call up last minute to try and get a table and we're fitted in. On arrival we were shown to our table and in no time we were tucking in to Roast Beef. I can't find fault.... beef was tender, Yorkshire puddings crisp and veg hot. Staff were polite and attentive. The menu - extensive and interesting... We will be... More

This was our third visit to the Pelican Inn. Each time we have visited, the service has been brilliant, the quality of food is very high and is excellent value for money, Other food establishments could learn a thing or two from the staff at the Pelican.

Situated a few hundred yards off the National Cycle Route 4 and about 1/3 of the way from Reading to Bath the Pelican makes an ideal overnight stopping place for those taking 3 days for the journey. The welcome was warm and we were able to store our bikes overnight in their enclosed private yard. The rooms were a good... More

Went there today with a party of 32 even though we booked for 20. There was no problem in them accomadating us and everyone was served promptly and the food was excellent. Well done Pellican, you'll be seeing us again!

I went there with my partner last Friday for dinner. The food was amazing. Fresh Seabass, beautiful Pork Belly with Black Pudding. My partner and I absolutely loved it. The Creme Brûlée was to die for. The shared Starter was huge as were the Mains. Sorry I couldn't eat it all, but we'll definitely come back for more. We are... More

My wife and I were here for one night - visiting for a friend's party at another venue, so we didn't dine here. Room was spacious but a bit spartan (not that we expected much else - this is a B&B after all) and the floorboards creaked. Cannot say we had a brilliant night's sleep as the double bed was... More

We are sorry the central heating was not on when you stayed. It has been remarkably mild recently and we were caught out by a cold night. It is on now. I would just like to pick up your point about potentially noisy front bedrooms. Some while ago we installed good quality secondary double glazing to the front bedroom windows... More

We Ordered fish and chips and the fish was bony and tasteless, peas indelible, they must hav been sat there drying out all day. Vacant staff whose only redeeming quality was that one lady offered our dogs water. Our unappetizing meal was serenaded by possibly the most depressing music imaginable. If you are passing the pelican....keep driving!
