My wife and I stayed at the pelican on a road trip to see family. I found the food to amazing for what was "pub prices". One of the nicest meals I have ever had. My wife had the fish and chips and I had chicken breast. Genuinely amazed by the food! Staff were welcoming. Attentive and friendly. Our room... More

I came back here with friends after a fantastic meal and welcome back in November! Unfortunately it didn't live up to before. When we came in we we greeted by a very abrupt lady on the bar who was far from pleasant, maybe brush up on your customer service skills. once we had our drinks we asked if we could... More

Been going out to lunch on Mondays with friends for two years now trying to find a different venue each week,to be fair we have been back to the Pelican several times but this week was the best lunch in two years of visiting many venues absolutely fantastic and made the dog welcome as well.

My wife and I picked this location as an ideal spot to meet up with two others for lunch. So soon after Christmas on a dull day the venue was not busy. We had booked a table and we were shown to a table in a pleasant room. The service and food were excellent and very reasonably priced.

Stayed overnight at the Pelican on New Year's Eve. The owners and their staff were absolutely fab and welcomed us like old friends. Lunch was great and beers very good. The bedrooms need updating badly, but the welcome and atmosphere more than make up for that. Prior to leaving for our dinner party we we reserved complimentary drinks and on... More

We stayed 1 night and wished I could have stayed another. It was very easy to find, has loads of parking the staff were all very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable, warm and pretty quiet. The bar is comfortable (although they had the door wide open at the end of the night), the food smelt lovely but we had... More

I had been to the Pelican a couple of times because it was dog friendly and although the service wasn't great, the venue was nice. The last time I went (I will NEVER go again) I was accused of lying about my order and overcharged on every part of my meal. Both women working there were very rude and created... More

I stayed at The Pelican for one night and I am glad it wasn't for any longer. The room was a good size but I think it was over the kitchen as it was very noisy, lots of banging and crashing coming from below. I ended up leaving the tv on when I went to sleep to drown out the... More
