We visited The Pelican for the first time in years, exceptional meal, will certainly be going back in the very near future. Steak night is very well priced and the quality of the steak was excellent and the puddings were delicious, cannot praise it enough!

I eat at the Pelican regularly because I do not live far away. I have never had a bad experience there since Vince and Hayley took over six and a half years ago. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are polite and friendly. Friends and family have stayed in the accommodation and have been delighted with... More

Booked in for one night via 'Late Rooms'. We were pleasantly greeted in the bar by the Manager. Key duly sorted and directed to one of the annexe rooms. Then the fun started, the door would not unlock, and there were signs on the door frame of a previous forced entry !. Back to reception where the Manager told me... More

Ordered jacket potato which was microwaved and reheated it was dreadful. Sent it back even though was told that it was baked had a panini which was lovely. Olive bread served with mussels was awful. When bill was presented. Not itemised. We realised we had been charged for the potato and the panini not great. Lovely place but surroundings didn't... More

Wish we had read reviews before we went!!!! Had Ploughman's and it was so disappointing. No cheese selection, just cheddar and poor mild quality. Bread was stale. Considering they advertised some lovely chutneys I was presented with just Branston. Large plate of mussels ordered and it meant just 10 large mussels. No taste and same boring bread. All in all... I am blessed to live fairly locally to this pub, and I must say that it is one of the best in the area, rivalled only by its sister pubs, the Bell Inn at Winterbourne Stoke and the Royal Oak at Great Wishford. The owner, Vinnie is always pleasant, and tries to make an effort to come and say hello... More

This was not my first visit to the Pelican inn, but i haven’t been for quite some time so i was a bit worried standards might have dropped, but I really enjoyed the meal, there was a good choice of standard local pub grub which was well prepared and presented. I had nice plump and juicy mussels for starters and... More

Top quality food, good beer and friendly staff (we went on a Sunday!). They also do a nice fry up for breakfast. I'd highly recommend this small pub on the way through. We often stop for food here and have good it consistently good. We will be back for sure !

Lovely friendly staff (especially Katie) but the food is ordinary and it lacks atmosphere. In my mind the menu is far too long for the food to ever be better than average. I have had very good fish and chip here but they have disappointed on later dates. You wouldn't choose to et here on a special occasion but I... More

Pulled in here starving hungry and looking forward to a decent meal. It was before 6pm so limited menu available, however we were tempted by the homemade curry with poppadoms & chutney. When it arrived it was the size of a child's meal and looked like a TV dinner from the 70's . Was a vaguely spicy pool of little... More
