We have been to Nienburg several times, but this was the first stay at zur Sonne. It was really excellent - from the really warm welcome on arrival, to the large comfortable room and the excellent breakfast. This hotel was a real 'find' and we will be back !

I was looking for a centrally located hotel in Nienburg and found it here. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of foods. You get a key to your room and the front door, in case you come in late. It is run by mom, Erika and sons, Holger & Martin. Both sons speak English and do emails. That is... More

We had not stayed in this hotel before, but thought we would try it as it was local to where we were visiting. The rooms are ok, but there is not tea or coffee making facilities in the room and no english TV. But the family run hotel was friendly and between our pigeon german and their more superior english... More

What a gem. All rooms are on the first floor. Each has two singles together. Each has two sitting chairs, a small table and sofa. The bathrooms are modern. There is no cable as all the TV programs are in German (even the Simpsons). Wireless internet didn't work over the six night there. They even got someone in to check.... More
