My husband and I loved everything about Uncastillo and wished we could have stayed for a week to explore more. Posada La Pastora is a beautiful place full of charm and comfort, the hosts Inma and Miguel were lovely and the breakfasts were very special, fresh orange juice, bread, cheese , ham, homemade jams, cakes, fruit, coffee ! the room was beautifully... A remarkable find in a very historic area of Spain. Couldn't stop taking pictures. The room was charming and the hotel was next to an old church that added to the ambiance. The breakfast was terrific (we have pictures of that too). The hosts are very helpful and explained in detail the sites of the area. Because of their expert... More

I found this posada, in the delightful small village of Uncastillo, to be small, quiet and rustic, with a lovely country feel (just walking through the entrance way, with its huge bundles of sweet smelling lavender, is enough to lift the spirits). Miguel and Imma were perfect hosts - nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were simply delicious, with lots... More

This was our last night on our road trip and we had to leave first thing in the morning to head to Bilbao and catch a ferry home. The owner couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful with his suggestions of how best to use what little time we had in the town. We were leaving at 5am and he... More

Pepa and me are a young spanish couple that stayed in the hotel on a lovely weekend previously to christmas. Just the town's beauty is worth it to make the distance by car and the hotel and its services are in line with the perfection of the place. but not only the quality of the posada is rated high, the... You wouldn't guess how nice an hotel this is by standing in front of it. Surprising interior, very nice rooms, food, everything. The staff was very helpful and the village is beautiful with an impressive castle towering over it. Do climb the tower for a magnificent view of the fortifications and the countryside.

An unspoilt region. An ancient, earthy town off the beaten track. This Posada is right in the centre, although the place is very quiet. The owner was most amenable, and the lounge area was very comfortable, with seating and very interesting books to browse through. The room was comfy and characterful. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Don't expect any nightlife... More

We enjoyed our short stay in Uncastillo, visiting during the local fiestas. Posada la Pastora was idelly situated right in the centre, easily accessible by car to drop off luggage before moving to a large parking place nearby. Walked around the town the rest of the time -- narrow pedestrian-only streets, old castle etc. Hotel was very comfortable and welcoming... More

Fabulous place, beautifully clean & comfortable. Host is welcoming, helpful & informative. For anyone who enjoys history, this is the place. Also saw some birds of prey nearby which was impressive. Breakfast was excellent - fresh & plentiful.

Apart from History spots (churches, castles Jewish quarter, roman remains, etc) we are very fond on birdwatching. There is a huge variety of habitats in a short distance. Thank you and see you soon, Inma y Miguel More
