We more ore less stumbled across this little atmospheric hotel. Quiet, at least in April. Heavy oak entrance door, solid dark furniture, floor in the room tilting in all directions. Very charming, an experience in itself.

If you want to feel like at home, best place to stay is la Posada Mayor de Migueloa. I know this place for the last 15 years and it is top quality. The hotel itself is in an amazing location and its decoration is unbeatable. The service is very well supervised by their owners and it is outstanding. I will... More

I've never submitted a Trip Advisor review before, but I think this hotel warrants one. We just returned from a two-week driving tour of mid-to-northern Spain, and our stay at Posada Mayor de Migueloa in Laguardia was top of our list in accommodations. Better than our hotels in Madrid, Barcelona and San Sebastian, and at almost half the price, including... More

During my trip to Spain, my friends took me to this little Hotel and became the highlight of my trip; something to point out, the food, the special wine, and the service. Very friendly and warm the Staff, Can't wait to be back there and this time with my family

The establishment is very traditional. The restaurant sports a menu consistent with that region if Spain. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The wine is exceptional and second to none. Does anyone know if they export to the U.S.?

This ancient establishment (started somewhere around 1620 I think) in the centre of the mediaeval town of Laguardia, perched high on a hill in the Rioja valley is a charming if eclectic hotel. Our room was tiny, and the ceiling was low. It was like staying at the home of your elderly great aunt. Everything is old and higgledy piggledy.... More

Comfortable establishment within the city walls. A little on the dark side given it's bricks and mortar within the walls, the hotel itself has all the amenities you would need. English was a bit of a challenge, but hey so was our Spanish. We parked our rental car outside of the walls and trucked our luggage in...very easy to do.... More

On a late September night we found the restaurant at this hotel, one of the few open on Sunday night, and our group being the only guests. First, the service was warm, prompt and gracious. The waiter spoke English, which helped us decide on what to eat. The food highlights were the ox steak, the lamb steak and the pimentos.... More

Accessible only on foot (you can park within a couple of hundred metres), this town centre Posada has been run by the Golda Meyer lookalike Maitre De since the civil war - or so it seems! Old fashioned service and accommodation gives this place a wonderful archaic feel, exemplified by its own subterrainean bodega hacked out of the worryingly crumbly... More
