Hotel Castillo El Collado was a bit of a pig to find. But when we did it was worth the wait. A fine establishment which was actually a castle attached to the walls of the historic medieval city of laguardia. The hotel owner 'javier' is a man on a mission. His mission is to make you stay in his 10... More

The owner greeted us and helped us with our luggage. He provided us with excellent service for our whole stay. We had a loose motorbike chain (he called a garage, drew a map and got us there for them to fix which was excellent because we don't speak Spanish and wouldn't have been able to do it without him). When... More

This a great hotel in the cute town of La Guardia. Although owner, Javier , does not speak English we communicated very well. He is so kind and is eager to help. The rooms and bathrooms are gorgeous (We stayed in Dona Blanco) and it is walking distance to the small town, parking also very clsoe by. We found this... More

A night in a castle should leave you feeling elevated. A night in the el Castillo El Collado will do just that. The tower view is breathtaking. The rooms are large and regally furnished. The walled town transports the visitor to the middle ages. Javier is an extraordinary host. His positive and elegant Spanish hospitality is heartwarming. His food preparation... More

The hotel is so enchanting and the rooms so comfortable, beautiful and enjoyable that the wonders of the wineries and the medieval town of Laguardia seem almost secondary. We stayed in the turret room, with views all around of the autumnal vineyards all around us, and no neighbors looking in. The bathroom was amazing, with a bath almost in the... More

This is a mini-castle hotel in an ancient hill-town convenient for visiting the wineries of La Rioja. We had a wonderful stay here, just one night, but maybe the best stay on our whole trip. Javier and his staff were really welcoming to us. We are grateful to Javier for helping us immensely in dealing with our car rental company... More

We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our holiday in September. On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our room. We had the "La Fabula" room which was really nice with a fabulous bathroom. Downside, it was noisy at night even with the windows closed because you had a... More

Stayed here in late September and believe it was our BEST stop. Javier was extremely courteous and his "old world " hospitality much appreciated. Upon departing he came out to our car and presented us with a bottle of his delicious Rioja wine ! We stayed in two different rooms which were everything we hoped for .The location in this... More

Javier and his crew does not know what good they can do for you. Very nice rooms, excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. Look no further for a place to stay. Laguardia is also a perfect starting point for exploring the area and is also an interesting village in itself.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A castle from the begining of the 19th century and restored in 1996. It has ten rooms and each one is named after an influential person of Laguardia and the Kingdom of Navarra. The decoration of the castle is an example of good taste and sobriety, not missing the fine elegance that enraptures visitors, who come here to spend their time in this idyllic and harmounious paradise with beautiful views full of the local colour. There are three very old function rooms decorated with Arabian ceramics and handcrafted coffered ceiling from the beginning of the 19th century worthy of note.
