This is a very comfortable hotel that is built into the wall of the city. The stones were taken from the King's living quarters and were immaculately restored in the early1900's. The rooms are large, the bathroom even larger and the owner/manager was a very professional and helpful host. LaGuardia itself is a charming medieval city in the Rioja district.... More

Laguardia is a small walled village, and this hotel is right on the wall, about 25m from the bus stop, which is great if you're arriving on the bus. It's also an excellent place from which to see all of Laguardia. The hotel actually has its own tower from which you can admire then beautiful countryside, so if you stay... More

Absolutely loved our two night stay in this magical castle. Loved the mix of styles in the decor, medieval meets Art Deco with unique and fascinating artefacts throughout. Loved the turret, well worth going up for the view. We were extremely fortunate in that we arrived after a very busy Easter so the hotel was quiet and we had the... More

If you like the idea of staying in a castle, then this may be for you. It's right next to the wall of the small village - and easy to walk to all restaurants etc. If you walk around the wall, there is a good park for kids - its a nice walk to do anyway. The castle has a... More

We recently spent two nights at this amazing hotel and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Rioja region. The hotel itself is uniquely charming and it totally met our high expectations. We had dinner at the hotel twice and we thoroughly enjoied both meals, which offered us the opportunity to taste different local dishes. The owner was... More

This is a lovely Hotel, set in the beautiful Laguardia. We stayed for 2 nights. The rooms are all unique, varying in styles, views and bathrooms, spotlessly clean and very well presented. We were given the choice of 2 and chose the one with a huge bed, sufficient for a small family, even though it was just the 2 of... More

this is only a 2-star hotel but it was a 5-star experience because of the unique nature of the hotel. It clearly did to have all the modern luxury attributes one might expect and want from a 5-star hotel (no elevator; no on-site parking - but no hotel in Laguardia has it; not a large staff-the owner does everything but... The Castillo has some charming sides, namely the fact that it looks so gorgeous from the exterior and the peaceful terrace. That's where it ends thou. The rooms/bathrooms are ageing and are not consistent with one another. Our double bed were two twins attached and our friends' room looked straight out of the exorcist. The breakfast is quite terrible with... More

We agree with everyone that this is a beautiful small hotel and clearly the pride and joy of the lugubriously charming owner. Perhaps though because we had been told by friends just how wonderful it was and especially the food, we were slightly under-whelmed. We had the half board option and whatever dinner menu came with it but we think... More

This wonderful, pristine castle hotel with individually beautiful rooms is not exactly cheap, but it is, truly, a genuine find. Good beds, lovely bathrooms and a warm welcome from the inimitable host. Highly recommended. Alas, the restaurant is a convenience-food paradise, if you like that kind of thing. Otherwise, eat elsewhere.
