I Have been at the Strand Cottage last May: great position to visit Hadrian's Wall and very nice place to sleep and relax! Michael, the lord land, is a very nice person and i want to say "Thanks" to him and to his dog Alfie! My friend Giorgia and I we hope to see you again!

My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at Strand Cottage B & B and had a wonderful time. Mike was warm and welcoming and the room was clean and we'll equipped. We found a binder in the room with loads of information regarding Hadrian's Wall and other nearby sites, as well as hikes - including miles and... More

This is a truly excellent B and B. We had a warm and informative welcome and stayed in a double aspect room with en suite shower. Everything was clean, modern and in excellent order. They has gone the extra mile, for example ready and waiting for us were maps and discount vouchers for all the local forts and museums. The... More

Stayed overnight in the detached room and found the room very comfortable and cosy. Was a cold wet day and Angela made sure we were warm offering advice where to eat ....local pub which served a great steak. Although our stay was short thanks to Angela and mike we managed to get to see a wonderful part of the country... More

I cannot fault my stay here. Picked up and dropped off at the train station. Angela was very welcoming and an excellent source of knowledge for the area. Liked the choice of hot breakfasts and not just full English. Another small thing I particularly appreciated was having a top sheet and not just the duvet. Would definitely stay here again.

5 stars are insufficient to do justice to this excellent location! We stayed three nights , so had good opportunities to enjoy Mike's suberb breakfasts ~ that offered many alternatives, all eqully appetising. It was helpful to have oppotunity for relaxing conversation with our hosts before setting off along the wall. Mike and Angela were always ready to share their... More

We had been travelling for two and a half months by the time we arrived at Strand Cottage. Being walkers we had ' clocked up' a considerable number of miles and were going to add to the number by walking selected parts of Hadrian's wall. We were hoping the Strand would be a comfortable place to stay so that we... More

We only stayed one night in August 2013 at the Strand Cottage, but we would have stayed longer if there had been any rooms available for the next days. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast and very friendly gosts. Angela was very helpful in finding other accomodation. Beautiful and quiet surroundings. We can recommend this cottage. We stayed for 1 night in the detached room. Angela and Mike were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. Our dog was welcome too, and Angela even found a pub where the dog was accepted. She also gave us very good advice on the walks around Hadrian's Wall. Thanks a... More
