Vallum lodge is wonderfully sited, just off Hadrian's wall and was a welcome sight after 14 miles of "roller coaster hills" as our guide book put it. The room was a little small, but comfortable and having free wifi was a very pleasant surprise. Breakfast the next morning was good and set us up well for another leg of wall... More

We stayed here for one night on our Hadrian's Cycleway tour. Our bikes were safely stowed in the blink of an eye, the room was lovely, the breakfast was delicious, the WIFI was dependable and fast. Highly recommended.

Vallum Lodge was one of the best stays on our 6 day walk of the Hadrian's Wall Path. The lodge is very much targeted at walkers, featuring a boot drying area and plenty of drying space in the room. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was one of the best we had on the trip. The... More

sorry, but compared to our best accommodation during our two weeks in the uk we only grant 5 stars once. and that's done already. nevertheless we'd appreciate the b&b service with very friendly and helpful landlady. room size was nearly sufficient for our big suitcases. chicken didn't disturb at all and helped to gain access for the complimentary wifi ;-)

Very comfortable B&B. Well equipped bedrooms with modern bath or shower rooms, plus a spacious guest lounge. Great food. A shop area - offering postcards, Hadrian's Wall T shirts, toiletries & other gear is a very useful facility ! Highly recommended !

We abandoned our walk early due to blizzard conditions that had 2 of our 5 people WET. Even though we arrived early, we were welcomed in our wet condition. Our daughter and 2 grandsons were with us (staying at another B& B since Vallum didn't have enough room for all of us -- book early) and they joined us in... More

4 of us stayed here with Mac Adventure Tours on day 2 of our 4 day walk of Hadrian's Wall Path. We entered the Vallum Lodge covered in snow, cold and somewhat wet to be greeted by the owner. She did not bat a eyelid, just told us leave all our wet clothes in the hall and she would dry... More

I've read the other reviews of Vallum Lodge and am unable to add any more praise. It is beyond doubt a first class B & B! In common with most other guests I visited whilst walking the Hadrian's Wall Path. The weather was foul, so I arrived very wet, very could and fairly tired. A wonderful welcome quickly overcame any... More

It's got everything. Lovely location. Lovely family run accommodation, stunning views, great friendly Pub close by with excellent food. It's got everything. If Carlsberg ran B&B's then it would be like this. Thank you Clare and Michael
