We stayed for 1 night whilst travelling thro' France, Uzerche is an interesting old town, well worth visiting. The Hotel Ambroise is well located, comfortable and has a good restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely dinner on the terrace, nicely presented with excellent service with a beautiful view of the town and the river.

We were staying with a friend near Uzerche, which is a lovely old walled city, just off the motorway and well worth the detour. We wanted to take him for dinner to thank him for his hospitality and this hotel/restaurant was recommended to us. We had not booked, but as it was early evening on a Wednesday did not anticipate... Halfway between Paris and the South of France, Uzerche is a very pleasant old stop over town, within easy reach of the motorway, but with the feeling of being further away. Hotel was fine - not exceptional, but exactly what we needed. Lovely restaurant overlooking the garden and small river. Food was pretty good. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Couple... More

The hotel was fair but staff pretty indifferent, obviously been in the family for generations and they do not seem overly enthused about service. Rooms were okay. We had the cheaper road view which was fine for the short time we were there but if longer you would need the river view rooms. We arrived at around 9pm for dinner... More

Stayed 2 nights beginning of nov. If it had been longer I would have done my best to find an alternative. The room was cold. Very cold. That shouldn't be a problem as normally you alert reception and they switch on or fix the radiator. But no... The couple on reception (presumably the owners) told me the rooms were thermostatically... More

Hotel Ambroise is a typical French hotel - nothing special but most pleasant. Located within a few minutes of the motorway made it an easy choice. Very clean and freshly decorated which made you feel welcome. The bedrooms are plain but very clean and comfortable. The restaurant which was busy, offers good, well priced menues. Food quality was excellent. Overall... More

Having booked this hotel some time ago via the Logis de France group, before the recent reviews focussing on the bedbug problems appeared, I was more than a little apprehensive on arrival. However, mercifully there were no signs of the wee beasties in our room, at least. We weren't overly impressed with the place, though (although the lady who booked... More

A good stopover hotel with a nice location on the banks of the river. A typical French hotel. Our room was clean with crisp white sheets and spacious bathroom. Nice views over the river. Didn't eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food Uzerche is a nice historic town. I recommend a walk up the hill to the... More

This hotel provided basic accommodation for 3 nights this summer. Uzerche is a a beautiful town with an old church, and pretty flowing river. The hotel has nice views of the river and hills. I had 2 adjoining double rooms, which could comfortably sleep 4 people. It seemed the hotel recently had some renovations - fresh paint, newer carpet. But,... More

At first glance, this looked like a plain but clean old hotel which seemed to be just what we needed for our short stay in Uzerche for a friend's wedding nearby. Four of us stayed in a room here in July 2012. After the first night, my friend woke up with a bug bite, which she attributed to a mosquito.... More
