We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the 7stanes trail at Newcastleton. The room was fine and the evening meal was excellent. Did seem a bit strange to get a Glass and Can for a drink, more like going round a friends house rather than eating out. The breakfast was not great either, but overall not a bad... More

We did not stay at the hotel, we visited for a meal. Tomas, the chef, spoke to us in person, explaining the options and checking on our dietry requirements. The six of us had five different dishes and each was amazing! A first class dining experience and a place I would definitely recommend. If we are ever in the area again... More

Ate here on Friday night, sitting in a small but comfortable area. Service was fantastic, and quick. The chef came to us, asking if we had any dislikes or allergies. We both ordered the chicken with mushroom sauce, really delicious, with a huge portion of vegetables. The chef said there would be a wait as it is freshly cooked, but... More

We stopped in for lunch & were warmly welcomed & asked where we wanted to sit, would rather that than get put anywhere. chose the window seat so that we cold watch what was going on outside. Very nice simple lunch menu, I had the chicken gougons & my husband had the steak & ale pie. Mine was beautiful &... More

As one of the few places in the village with a good WiFi connection, this was going to be a 2nd home for most of my stay in Newcastleton. And what a great place. Most nights I spent having a couple of drinks and surfing the net. However, the extra mile came when I needed to teach my elderly parents... More

Nice pretty little village, hotel was basic and very dark inside if I'm honest but the service was really good and the food was freshly prepared and very good indeed. The people running it couldn't have been more helpful if they'd tried and the bar is friendly, warm and welcoming. Would return if ever in the area in the future.

Liddlesdale Hotel is in the middle of the village in Douglas Square and is a popular place and we decided to have an evening meal there. There was a good variety on the menu and reasonably priced. We were impressed with the quality and decided going the following night also. There are limited dining choices in Newcastleton but Liddlesdale Hotel... More

Stayed here again, on spec as pursuing country pursuits locally, nice clean and warm room. Warm and friendly welcome, nothing too much trouble. Delicious homemade steak pie followed by chocolate sponge and custard, suitably washed down with two pint of cider. Reasonably priced, nice staff, will definitely be staying again. A great location for the country sports enthusiasts, walkers and... More

Comfortable rooms and hearty Scottish breakfast in this quaint old village hotel. The rooms are clean and well equipped. The bar food was good and we enjoyed fresh haddock and chips. The bar is frequented by hotel guests and locals from the village

My sister and I ate here whilst cycling the Reiver's Route. The food was excellent and very clearly homemade on the premises. I had a delicious chicken curry and my sister had scampi. The puddings were also of a high standard - homemade chocolate sponge and a lovely apple crumble. It is great to see a chef taking such a... More
