We have spent the last three Hogmanays in Newcastleton. What a wonderful friendly village as for the Grapes Hotel..Great value for money, superb food served by lovely friendly staff. ^ of us left on the 3rd January, we popped in for coffee, we were served with fresh pots of coffee and were offered refills. We will return. More

Stayed here a couple of times, good food, excellent breakfast at a time to suit. Steak and Ale Pie Excellent. Rooms are clean but basic, the last time we stayed the electric shower didn't work properly, however they did let us use another room the next morning, no discounts though!!!! Great location for Fishing, Cycling or Shooting locally. Staff friendly... More

We had a 3 night stay in The Grapes and would highly recommend a visit. Newcastleton is exceptionally friendly and there is a very warm welcome in the hotel and with locals in the bar. Trevor and Glynis cook a superb breakfast and like a wee chat! Safe bike storage. And the food in the restaurant great value, copious and... More

We were made welcome and showed somewhere secure for our bikes - this was a cycling trip. Our room was at the back of the hotel. The room was adequate but the bathroom needed refurbishment. There were 3 chillers with vents mounted directly across from the window which made quite a lot of background noise but the main problem was... More

Stayed overnight during a Reivers Cycle trip. Ideal location just off the official route. Safe storage for the bikes. Excellent room and bathroom, very good food in the restaurant, steak and ale pie highly recommended. A cooked breakfast was provided at 7am for an early start (they have even cooked breakfast at 4.30am on request). Thank you to all at... More

I had a really good meal here (I didn't stay at the hotel, so cannot vouch for it). Adam, the manager, was not only very helpful, but also very friendly and a delight to talk to. More
