This hotel is really a gem. The main buildiing is part of hostorical patrimone of Ardeche, the gardens manicured, the rooms comfortable, spacious with lovely bathroom. We had delicious dinner with local wine and amazing breakfast the followng morning. There is a huge swimming pool for summer guests. Prices are reasonable, I stayed in a triple room, with my husband... More

Unusual rural guest house with well-equipped rooms and acres of space. But the biggest surprise is the outstanding food - both at breakfast and dinner. The owner is English and once owned a restaurant with his beautiful French wife in Cheltenham, UK. They certainly work hard to maintain this spacious property .

Unfortunately I only stayed for a night in la Cardinale in le Pouzin, and it was pure coincidence. The landskape is beautiful the rooms are large and well thought out with private terrasse. It was unfortunately too cold to go to the pool, but the setting is amazing there too... but the biggest surprise was the food. I have been... More

This is a small hotel where you really can recharge your batteries. The hotel is small and run by a very friendly and accommodating family, the food is 2 star michelin quality and is the highlight of the day. There is 65 acres of well tended gardens with hundreds of trees. The rooms are all different and and beautifully maintained... More

We stayed for a few days with the family in the family room of Hotel restaurant La Cardinale. Not only was the food super, the breakfast unbelievable good, the bed we were sleeping in was excellent. If you happen to be in the neighborhood don't hesitate to pass by. It is a small hotel-restaurant, a huge pool and excellent service.... More

Beautiful pastoral setting accompanied by a warm welcome made a great first impression. The rooms are secluded and have French doors with a wonderful view of the gardens. Inside the retro style tile, bathroom design and imaginative décor including trompe l’oeil just added to the enjoyable experience. We ate at the restaurant and it was excellent with superb food and... More

We only decided to stay at this property at short notice and we are so glad we did. The rooms were beautiful (including a mini bar fridge) and the bathroom was amazing. For once the spa was truly large enough for 2 people and much larger than those small corner spas that so many places put in. The shower was... More

We have just returned from our holiday in france and spent most of the time at La Cardinale. We received a very warm welcome and a room with an amazing view. Straight to the pool over looking the hills and the Alps in the distance, relaxing in a beautiful setting. Dinner was served to a fantastic standard with local produce... More

Le Cardinale was a lovely surprise. It is a beautifully restored bed and breakfast is located on the west bank of the Northern Rhone tucked away from the road. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are huge. The property has a lovely pool, garden and the rooms away from the main house are like having your own private villa. I loved... More
