This lovely manor house has been very tastefully renovated by the owner, and was extremely atmospheric. The bedrooms were done out in a sort of 'Jane Austen' style - but with all mod cons and ample electric sockets (definitely not the norm!). The bed was lovely and comfortable, and as our room faced the side of the house, we weren't... More

This historic building has been lovingly restored, with an impressive lounge and light filled breakfast salon in a converted cellar. Dinner is excellent, a set menu, where choice would be pointless. Limited wines by the glass and bottle. The rooms (we saw several) are individually and beautifully decorated in period style, with modern bathrooms, ours even had separate toilet. Minor... More

We stayed here mainly to visit the Laguiole knife factory; it turned out to be the highlight of our trip across France. The location and room was great; the hosts are amazing and very friendly (and multi-lingual). The food......quite simply the best meal I have ever had (and I have eaten at multiple 3 star places). The duck confit was... More

The Manoir just outside Estaing is a charming and interesting old building. The building had been owned by the current owner for 6 to 7 years and brought up to a pretty comfortable level of operation. Given the nature of the old building some of the features such as the bathrooms are mildly eccentric in relation to the need for... More

Le Manoir is a delightful historic hotel. We stayed there for the nights of 9 & 10 October. The room was quite small but very comfortable and tastefully furnished. There was lots of cupboard space. The ensuite bathroom, and separate toilet, were clean and well appointed, although we would have preferred a fixed shower rather than a hand held one... More

The hotel is a beautifully restored building and is very well decorated in a traditional way. The rooms are quite smart and stylish (traditional French hotel style). Ours was very comfortable with good bed and very modern bathroom and toilet. There were some very good public rooms; the large foyer led on to a handsome restaurant and off this was... More

This hotel is beautifully located in the pretty Lot valley - Estaing, nearby, is a particular highlight. We booked via a third-party website, but then found that to eat in the restaurant it was necessary to book demi-pension which we could only do direct with the hotel; they were most helpful, giving us the same rate. Our room, though not... More

We stayed for two nights on our way home from a holiday by the sea. The rooms were lovely, the proprietor was friendly, the meals excellent and we could not have asked for a better place. We give top marks!!

We have fond memories of our stay with Eric and Laurent. Friendly, welcoming and thoughtful hosts, they have created a peaceful haven close to the gorgeous village of Estaing. Our suite, tucked in under the roof with dormer windows, was beautifully appointed, quiet and romantic. A delicious breakfast, including specialties of the house and locally sourced produce was served in... More

After driving from the Vallee de la Loire through Murat and Aurillac, we came to Estaing, one of the pilgimmage stops for Santiago de Compostela and also one the most beautiful villages of France named for the ancestors of Giscard d'Estaing. Outside the city a short distance is the lovely country manor of La Fabregues with rooms overlooking the river... More
