We stayed for one night on our way from the UK to Spain. We had not booked but chose the hotel en route using the excellent Logis directory. The hotel itself is a typical 'quaint' French hotel situated in a very lovely part of France. Our room was pretty basic but adequate for an overnight stay. The strength of the... More

The room was comfortable and everything worked but the bathroom needed updating. We opted fpr the half board option when we booked which restricts the choice at dinner but everything was well prepared, tasted good and was very enjoyable. There were two large party's in the dining room and one tabel of 12 people seemed to be locals who came... More

We booked a room by phone as we were running late and when we turned up we thought we'd made a big mistake Auberge du Rascalat looked old fashioned and needing a bit of TLC. Our car being the only one in the car park didn't make things feel better, but as time passed the car park filled and things... More

We stayed for one night en route to near Perpignon (Collioure), as a result of reading previous reviews about the excellent food. While this applied to the breakfast, we thought the evening menu very limited unless an expensive menu of 43 or 70 eur was chosen. The 30 eur menu only had one main course, Pike (a river fish we... Auberge du Rascalat is about 15 minutes by car from Millau, on a scenic road: it is a good 'base' for exploring a very interesting area. Like so many 2-star rural hotels in France, it is old, a bit drab, a bit eccentric, but comfortable, and everything works. It is set on its own, in the countryside, a kilometre or... More

This small rural hotel is quite remote but just a short drive from the magnificent Millau Bridge. Set against a wooded hill the rooms (and plumbing) reminded me of those French films I used to see in the 50s and early 60s. Much more concerned with the quality and presentation of their food than the modernity and design of their... More

Though we found the restaurant food generous and cooked with flair, our visit was let down by the drabness and complete lack of style of the room. It just wasn't a congenial place to stay because of lack of attention to practical detail - difficulty of drawing curtains, ineffective bedside lights, nowhere to place toilet bag or hang things in... We stayed for one night in Auberge du Rascalat especially because of it's good restaurant (Guide Michelin). The (bath)room is clean and basic (no airco or fan). You can make use of the swimmingpool but don't expect any luxury (no towels, shower, chairs etc.). On the outside the hotel does not look very good maintained and the swallows produced a... More

This is a very convenient 'Logis de France' which clearly has it's focus on food. We ate there in the evening and had excellent food and charming 'old fashioned' style French service (the sort that you'd get in old-established restaurants in Paris). Breakfast was also superb with artisanal sheeps milk yogurt (I know some people only want to eat cornflakes... More

.We stayed at this hotel in June 2010.It must be the worst ever!!! We arrived,& the fist thing we had to do was step over the heaps of dog poo right outside the main entrance.Inside there was no recepionist. We called out several times & eventually a very dishevelled man came from out of the kitchen. He could not speak any english,(although...
