This is the palace where I usually stay when I am in Tokyo. All the room are on a balcony, son when you open your door you can feel the air. I prefer the twin room type B. It had two opening windows and the light inside is very good, especially when you have to work in there. The breakfast... More

We spent two nights at Arietta and found this hotel comfortable and convenient. The location is very good, close to Gotanda JR station and not far from Shinagawa Station. The neighborhood is quaint, residential, so if you want to be closer to the action and lights of Tokyo, maybe look somewhere else. We actually liked the area that was just... More

I was going to book this hotel for a friend, but then I looked at the website: https://asp.hotel-story.ne.jp/ver3d/di/?hcod1=30381&hcod2=001&seek=on&def=seek which reads: "*We do not accept to stay for two male guests" which I can only assume that two males are not allowed to book any of their rooms with one double or one semi-double bed. However, one male and one female... More

I've stayed at the Arietta Gotanda many times when I've come to Tokyo on business....while I dream of the day I can get CNN on the TV, I always find the staff pleasant and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable by Japanese standards, and the location...a few blocks from the JR Yamanote line which will get you to SO many... I staied this hotel for 3 nights for my friend's wedding in Meguro Tokyo. I booked from the website of Renaissance Hotel group as below. http://www.thehotel.co.jp/en/arietta_gotanda/index.html good atmosphere, light breakfast was included, not every stuff are fluent English, but good hospitalyty. I stayed a single room by myself. It is kind of small room, but it was enough for 3... More

nice architecture and interior design. standard business hotel room size but with 'open concept' bathroom with some designer fixtures. This makes the room feel more spacious than a typical business hotel room with the modular bathroom. Traffic noise day and night(at least on the lower floors) due to the hotel's architecture with the hallway essentially open air, though access to... More

My husband and I stayed at the Arietta Hotel near Gotanda Station in Tokyo from May 21 to June 11, 2007. We chose the hotel for its location (close to a train station on the Yamanote Line) and for its price (not too expensive). We checked TripAdvisor for reviews before we booked, but didn't find any, so we took a... More

Staying in Shinagawa / Gotanda

Neighborhood Profile
Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.
