I am only motivated to review when something is either very bad or very good and this lovely place is definitely in the very very good category. It is set in a very peaceful location, the gardens are well set out, am just sorry I missed out on using the pool. The 2 storey conservatory is great to sit in... More

Wonderful birthday treat at this luxurious B&B in Somerset, Chris and Maggie Knight were perfect hosts and the food was first class. We were welcomed with tea and delicious cake in the lounge overlooking lovely gardens. We stayed in the four poster room "silk room" and had 4 course (and 5*! )dinner. We had the full English breakfast (including haggis!)... More

Stunning home and quintessential English hospitality. Maggie and Chris Knight were the perfect hosts. Could not have been made to feel more welcome. The three-course dinner the single evening we stayed here was world class. We could have stayed here three days if time had permitted. Lovely village of Castle Cary a five minute walk from the property. Cannot say... More

I am not sure my words could do this justice. If the price was three times what it was I would still say it was value. The rooms are better than Chewton Glen, the welcome included home made sandwiches, cake and proper tea and I swum in their pool in beautiful gardens. Breakfast was so good and I just cannot... More

I stayed here for two nights and was very impressed at the level of comfort and the wonderful choice at breakfast. I loved my room with its large brass bed and comfortable bedding. The furnishings were a mixture of antique and oriental and the bedside lights were perfect for reading at night. Very important for me was a good sized... More

A beautiful property with warm and welcoming hosts Maggie & Chris who make sure you have everything you need. My luxurious and sumptuous bedroom was large with beautiful views over the gardens. Maggie cooks a supurb breakfast & welcomes you when you come in from site seeing with tea & coffee and home made cakes. First class accommodation which should... More

Having found The Old Vicarage at the last minute we were pleasantly surprised as to how wonderful our experience was. Maggie and Chris Knight were truly wonderful hosts and their house is amazing, it truly is a pleasure to sleep in a four poster bed in a beautiful vicarage. As we had not organised anywhere to eat we ate with... More

We found this Guest House by chance. A member of Wolsey Lodges,we knew it would be at a good standard. We were in fact unprepared for such a warm welcome by Maggie and Chris Knight. Our room was spectacular, particularly the four poster bed which was so high even I at 2 metres used a foot stool to climb in.... More
