Location was fairly easy to find with convenient stores nearby. The room is comfortable / spacious enough except for the dusty air condition. Washroom/Showers are clean. Would be nice if staff was more hospitable.

Everything is very good, the staff is very friendly and ready to help, rely knowing the city, giving very usefull advices - thanks for them. The only thing I don't like is to pay for a shower - it's unpleasent for me and I think 100 yens is not a profit for a hotel.

We found the hostel itself to be very well equipped and very clean and tidy and would rate it very highly if not for the pay showers and the "rough" area it is located in. The location was great for getting to places. In comparison to other areas we stayed in the area looked a bit run down and shady.

Friendly staff with a very cozy environment. Even though located away from the big cities, subway is just a walk away. Nearby convenience shop 7-11 also helps with my irregular meal times when travelling. Definitely recommending to friends and family who will be going to Tokyo.

We stayed at Aizuya for 5 nights recently. There is nothing negative to say apart from the beds being very uncomfortable and having to pay 100yen for the shower. Otherwise it was great, they offer a free breakfast of cereals and juice; cheap laundry; great wifi; comfortable common room and free bicycle rental and towel rental. The staff were approachable,... - If you don't mind being around extremely loud French people all day and night then you might enjoy this place a lot! - Make sure you bring ear plugs for the snoring. - I actually think the 100 yen for every 5 minutes in the shower is a great idea... 5 minutes is enough!

If you have modest expectations, this will be a good and cheap place to stay. And i mean that positive. It is a good backpacker place in the north of Tokyo, the internet, coffee and tea and bicycles are included in the room rate, there is a hot public bath nearby and the bike will take you to Akasaka in... The staff is very nice and helpful. The place is little but very comfortable and you have free wifi. If you didn't bring your computer, cellphone or tablet, they have one computer available for you to use free of charge. They also have books and magazines in case you need more recommentations of where to go and bikes if you... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
