I have stayed at this hostel two times now, and I have also been in other hostels in Tokyo. This one was by far my best experience. It is in a quiet neighbourhood, which made us feel like we were seeing some "real" neighbourhood in Tokyo, not only the tourist-y places. Location: The hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood is... More

Very nice place, calm and clean, also easy to find supermarket. Just not familiar with coin shower. Not enough space for living area. The Staff is very helpful. Reasonable price for the futon rooms in Tokyo.

While the place is a bit off the tourist path, the directions to it were very helpful. The hostel had a comprehensive set-up, helpful staff, and lots of info on where to travel. It was a quiet but busy hostel with super fun and interesting decor!

I stayed at a single room and it was comfortable and also very affordable. I was going out most of the time. I had everything I needed. It is a bit far from the station, but it is good exercise. Near the hotel there is a convenience store and also a small grocery store. I love to cook food and... More

Very clean, hot showers & heater, very helpful staff. Rooms are small with futons, but, very comfortable sleep. Location, although not bad, could be better. There is a walk from the hostel to the metro.

Near popular hot spot 雷門, and very easy to go. They also offer cereal, milk, and juice as breakfast. And if you would like to discover this area by bike, you can just rent it for free! the entire environment is clean, but if you need sleep very much, u better think again, cause the sound insulation isn't good, and... A 5 minute walk from the station and very close to restaurants, bars and sights. The staff are incredibly helpful, the lounge area is very comfy and great use of the computers. The rooms are quite basic but have air con & tv. The showers are very welcome after a hot day in Tokyo. The hostel has a link with... More

This is my second time here, but first time bringing a van-load of friends along the ride. As usual, finding the place is easy, but here's a tip - if you are carrying a big bag, don't use the south exit as its strictly a stairs-only affair. Use the JR exit as there's a lift to accommodate your rolling bag... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
