These guys are awesome!! First hostel we stayed in when we reached japan and felt welcome and looked after immediately. Raul and his team were super helpful, directing us to interesting areas and locations around asakusa and even recommended us a few locations further afield for the next stage of our travels. The hostel itself is clean and compact, the... More

it was really comfortable to stay even you're only going alone. A recommended place. The place was filled with many information about japan, and it feels like you're really stay in japan because they use japanese room style instead the western one.

the place near the railway station, its so convenient to go out, and the room was clean and comfortable. The rest place is quiet. Also, free wifi is available with high speed. And the staff are very nice and helpful

Great place for travellers on a budget. The location is great with easy access to places like Asakusa, Shibuya, Ueno, etc. The staff are very friendly, and the other guests were great. The only downside we had was the smell in the room - a musky due or mould smell. We saw now mould though, just a very strong smell.... More

Everything was fine, the location was quite good, the hostel was clean, the staff extremely nice and helpful. The only thing that bothered us a little bit was the coin-operated shower, although I understand and agree with the motivation to save water, and this is compensated for by the nice breakfast. All in all, would definitely recommend this hostel to... More

This hostel was beautifully decorated and had helpful staff! It was an affordable hostel that gave me a feel for Japanese culture. It was also close by the metro station which made for easy traveling to other parts of Tokyo. Well done!

Staff were very friendly. Guests are very sophisticated yet friendly. The whole place is immaculate. conveniently located in the center of Tokyo with very convenient access to subway, buses and trains. Many 24/7 grocery stores nearby. You can cook at the kitchen. Very quiet in spite of many guests. I recommend tatami-mat rooms over rooms with bunk beds. You can... More

My room was on the second floor(single private), it had all I need to stay there for the night, even the futon was surprisingly comfortable. Good: The staff was very friendly and helpful in case of any questions. The hostel is located near to a station and is easy to find. Bad: The walls aren't soundproof at all, you can... More

The place is too old, has a quite weird smell. The Airconditioning is so old with dust and makes funny noises. It's so unfortunate but we both ended up catching a cold after the one night there. Also the room we paid for with a big bed for two was not the one we received. We rather were made to... More

I've been staying at this Hostel a few times now (again in February) and always enjoy the stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, the facilities are good and the location is very handy and easy to get to. Definitely well worth it.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
