If you have modest expectations, this will be a good and cheap place to stay. And i mean that positive. It is a good backpacker place in the north of Tokyo, the internet, coffee and tea and bicycles are included in the room rate, there is a hot public bath nearby and the bike will take you to Akasaka in... The staff is very nice and helpful. The place is little but very comfortable and you have free wifi. If you didn't bring your computer, cellphone or tablet, they have one computer available for you to use free of charge. They also have books and magazines in case you need more recommentations of where to go and bikes if you... More

Really good staff, kind and helpful! Services are as well very suitable: wifi, luggage storage, breakfast... It is 5 min walk from the subway station, so even if the area is not that interesting to visit it's not a problem. And for french guys the bonus: they also speak a perfect french :) I recommand!

I stayed 4 days in Tokyo in this hostel and all I can say it was very good. First, the location seems far from the center but actually, you can get to different places pretty fast such as Harajuku or Asakusa, so it's very convenient. Then, concerning the hostel, the staff is very nice and very helpful, the hostel is... More

Nicely located near Nippori, so if you are headed to Nartia in the early morning you don't have far to go. The staff are very friendly and speak excellent English. The atmosphere of the hostel is very clean and comfortable. We rented accommodations in their 4 bed dorm on the top floor, although the room was clean and comfortable for... More

Underexpectation. Need to be at least Clean and comfortable. Do not put guest luggage in toilet. There are other inn or hostel with Same price but offer better and cleaner environment. Paid shower is a turnoff.

I stayed in this hostel for a total of 7 nights in Tokyo. The staffs are friendly, the price is not expensive, and the hostel interior is quite unique and feels homy. Sometimes they event lit some Japanese style incense. However, the kitchen area seems to be not taken care of, it's dirty and only has limited utensils. Using the... More

I have stayed at this hostel two times now, and I have also been in other hostels in Tokyo. This one was by far my best experience. It is in a quiet neighbourhood, which made us feel like we were seeing some "real" neighbourhood in Tokyo, not only the tourist-y places. Location: The hostel is in a quiet neighbourhood is... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
