My wife and I stayed here in early october 2014. It was our first night ever in Japan and we decided to have it in a ryokan. Location is just great, in the middle of busy Asakusa, but a small block away from the noise. Staff was very helpful and knew enough english to make us feel perfectly understood. A... More

I wish I could give the Ryokan Kamogawa a more indepth review that it likely deserves. We only stayed there for one night, however, as a layover stop on the way to Narita Airport from Kyoto. The room we were in was a style A room for two people. There was a sitting room with a table, hot water for... More

Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa was a perfect introduction to Tokyo. Slap bang in the middle of busy and touristy Arakusa this place offers many activities within walking distance from temples to fairgrounds for the kids. The staff were great and reserved some fantastic local restaurants for us. The rooms are small and basic and the bathroom tiny but everything is clean... More

We were recommended this ryokan by a friend and it proved everything we hoped. Located right in the middle of the historic part of Asakusa, minutes from the metro, lots of excellent restaurants and Sensoji Temple complex. Staff were really friendly and helpful, and spoke good English, beds comfy and surprisingly, given the location it was also very quiet at... More

Thank you for your staying and posting a good review. We are glad to hear that your friend recommends us and it was not wrong. It is surprizing for us that many guests from foreign country choose Japanese breakfast nowadays. We hope we can welcome you again someday. Thank you. More

For being right in the middle of Asakusa, its hard to beat this ryokan. Half a block to the temple one way, half a block to great shopping the other, and if your in the mood, a 30 minute walk to the Skytree Tower the other. Location is outstanding. The ryokan itself is clean, and the front desk very friendly.... More

Thank you for staying and writing a nice review. We are considering to renew the curtain(Japanese style "Sudare") to make the windows better. We are sorry for the size of the bath. We would have recommended you to try the bath on the 1st floor. Our bath on the ground floor is Japanese style and much larger than the bath... More

I chose the Ryokan Kamogawa based on its location and the experience of staying in a traditional Japanese-style hotel room, and was not disappointed. Despite the hotel’s small size, it is easy to find if you are familiar with the area. Plenty of famous sites are a close walk away, such as the aforementioned Nakamise avenue, Asakusa Temple, Sumida Park,... More

Located near Kaminarimon just two minute walk from exit 1 of the Asakusa metro station on the Ginza line. At the exit of Asakusa station there is a small tourist info (very useful when you arrive). When you get out of the ryokan you will find yourself right in the middle of hundreds of shops and restaurants. The Kaminarimon will... More

Have stayed here a couple of times now and always impressed - this place is a family run business close to the central tourist areas of Asakusa. It's a good place for sightseeing, particularly if you're on limited time in Tokyo. The hotel itself is close to the subway line which will allow you to get to most other popular... More

We are a couple that stayed in Ryokan Kamogawa Asakusa's Family Suite/ TYPE B Room (4th Floor) for 2 nights from 4th April to 6th April. The service was really great! The staff could speak English, Chinese and Japanese so it was easily to communicate with them. They were also very helpful when we asked for directions. They gave us... More

In Asakusa the old part of Tokyo close to lovely temple and a great market there is Ryokan Kamogawa. Tatami mats, excellent service, the people working here are just beyond nice. It was just one of the many highlites of our stay in Japan and probably the best Ryokan I stayed considering everything. If you want to try a Japanese... More
