My son & I stayed 8 nights in this quiet neighborhood that is close to the metro and sky liner to the airport!! Our hosts were very accommodating. The room gave us a cultural experience but gave us the option of a western bathroom. During our stay we were able to get on the metro and see all the sights... More

I picked this ryokan becuase the reviews, and it didn't dissapointed me! Either traveling alone, family (with kids) or group this is a great introduction to Japan. First, the ryokan is located in the Ueno area (old town) of Tokyo very close to the JR station: Nippori, and the subway station: Sendagi (on the green line Chiyoda). Second, the neighborhood... More

This ryokan is very convenient, as it is fairly close to Nippori Station, the first drop-off of the Skyliner from Narita Airport. To get to it, you go through a very authentic Japanese market, where one can find heaps of trinkets and food stalls. I would recommend the last bento shop before you make the bend to Annex Katsutaro. I... More

This is a lovely, small and quite genuin Japanes ryokan hotel (though we only saw foreigners as guests). The location is great: three minutes to the metro and ten minutes walk to Nippori station where the train from Narita airport stops. And the area is so nice! There is a market that on the street to the station and a... More

Great hotel, with good and spacious (Japanese standards!) rooms, nice staff, convenient on location coin laundry (although using hours are limited and can get crowded in the evening). Location is excellent, with direct access to the skyline for Narita, JR and Metro lines, and at the heart of the yanaka district, surrounded by small temples and shrines as well as... More

Lots of great restaurants, walkable to airport train. Just spent an overnight due to flight connections. Front Desk speaks english. Price is right for the neighborhood and quality of stay. Above a backpacker place for sure.

Took my husband and 2 children ages 7, 11 for their first time in Japan. Stayed there end of March for Sakura Tree Viewing. We stayed in the larger 4 person room and it was wonderful! The ryokan or traditional Japanese sleeping on the futon was an experience and surprisingly very comfortable. Design was traditional, tasteful and functional. We had a great time dressing up in traditional pajamas. Location was unbeatable. Not a far walk from nearest station. And all around are quaint shops. Quite a number selling traditional goods like pottery, Japanese paper etc. Price... More
