Lots of great restaurants, walkable to airport train. Just spent an overnight due to flight connections. Front Desk speaks english. Price is right for the neighborhood and quality of stay. Above a backpacker place for sure.

Took my husband and 2 children ages 7, 11 for their first time in Japan. Stayed there end of March for Sakura Tree Viewing. We stayed in the larger 4 person room and it was wonderful! The location cannot be beat if you want a quiet place that is surrounded by many food shops, a 100 yen (dollar store), food... More

The ryokan or traditional Japanese sleeping on the futon was an experience and surprisingly very comfortable. Design was traditional, tasteful and functional. We had a great time dressing up in traditional pajamas. Location was unbeatable. Not a far walk from nearest station. And all around are quaint shops. Quite a number selling traditional goods like pottery, Japanese paper etc. Price... More

Stayed for 4 nights. The locale was lovely with lots of character small shops and market streets with a variety of small shops and lots of places to dine. Our hosts were lovely, extremely helpful and very good English speakers. We really like the hotels location. It is a pleasant 5 - 10 minute walk (without luggage) to the JR... More

From the Narita airport, you can take the JR into the city and get off at the Nippori station and just walk to the Ryokan. Takes maybe 10-15 minutes and is a very nice scenic walk. The place looks new and feels great. The front desk people are very nice and speak pretty decent English. Overall, this place was a... More

Don't be put off by the bunker-like appearance of this place: its way better than it looks and is a great place to stay. The accommodation itself is good and the price fair, but it is the location that really sets it apart. It's literally five to ten minutes walk (mostly through a delightful old pedestrian shopping street) from Nippori... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in winter. I booked the place because I was struggling to find reasonably priced accommodation at the last minute. I was so happy when I arrived at the ryokan. The staff were so lovely and the room very very clean. And it didn't feel as small as some of the other hotels in Japan.... More

Stayed here for the holidays last December 2013 and we enjoyed our stay very much. It was very near the Sendagi subway and 10 mins walk to the Nippori station. The neighborhood was very nice too and a lot of restaurants and convenient stores around. Will definitely consider coming back here soon.

Staff were very helpful and spoke some English to help direct us and tell us where local sights were and how to get there. The room was plenty big enough for 2 adults and 2 children. It was good value for money and only located a short walk from 2 subway stations. Also had many restaurants nearby as well as... More

We stayed for 6 nights. Double rooms were perfect. But we had one triple room and that was the same size as a double so a little squashy. Great location. Only 3 min walk from Sendagi Stn and 10 min from Nippori. Nice quaint quiet neighborhood with fab food recommendations by the very helpful hosts. I will definitely return
