I stayed here for four nights and was quite happy with my choice. My room was a standard single with a mini-fridge and television, etc. The staff kept it clean during my stay and it was quite comfortable for my purposes. There are some very good restaurants nearby and the location is great for both the JR and subway. There... More

Overall, this hotel is okay. It is close to Asakusabashi Station of JR Chuo-Sobu Line, which calls at major stations in Tokyo such as Akihabara and Sinjuku. You also have access to Toei Subway Asakusa Line near the hotel as well (probably 3-5 minutes of walk). It is convenient to commute from here because when I was in Tokyo this... More

This place is alright. Rooms are fine but no wifi in the rooms which was pretty frustrating. Locations is alright and close to a metro line at least. Staff weren't the most helpful and refused to make a few phone calls for us which was annoying a contrast to the great customer service we'd encountered everywhere else.

Stayed here in may for a week. Great quiet location in a what seems to be typical japanese neighbourhood. Akihabara JR station about 10 min walking from the hotel, asakusabashi station right around the corner. Great italian restaurant down the road to asakusabashi station. Would definately stay here again. And yes, beds are small but no problem sleeping in for... More

The staff was more than accommodating and friendly. Wonderful customer service. The 24hr Lawsons on the bottom floor was really convenient for quick meals or on the go snacks. The station is literally a 5 minute walk away and a quick ride to most major cities. It's a little tricky to find at first but is a well kept building.... More

Hotel is located in a very convenient place. Almost in front of the Sobu-line Asakusa-bashi station. But one should note that if you are coming from Haneda airport, the subway station is a bit of a walk (it says 4 minutes, but with a large luggage and if it is raining, it can be difficult). The staff are very friendly... More

The hotel is very close to the JR trains, 1 stop away from the Yamanote line. The hotel room itself was small but very clean, and rooms on the east side of the building get a really good view of the Tokyo skyline, including the Skytree. There is a convenience store attached to the lobby, which is nice.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
