Hotel is quite old, but it's totally acceptable as it is clean. Small room, but is Japan standard, so I've no complaints. Only 5 minutes walk from Okachimachi Station or 10 minutes from Ueno Station. At the back side there lies the Ameyoko-Cho market where you can find almost everything, especially food and restaurant. Seven Eleven is available just across... More

The location was what sealed the deal when we were looking for a hotel and this was perfect - about 5 minutes walk from Ueno station or the nearest subway. Great shops all around too. We were on one of the higher floors as requested which was awesome as got a cool view. As others have mentioned it gets really... More

If you come to Ueno by Keisei, it's rather easy to find the hotel. Just look at the map outside Keisei Sta. It's shopper paradise. You can find Ameyoko Market on the way to hotel and Takeya is also close to the hotel. Wifi signal in the hotel is good. It has a bit bigger than Ueno Touganeya Hotel. It's... More

The hotel location is near the JR Okachimachi Station in 5 minutes walk and 15 minutes walk to JR Ueno Station. Near the Ameyoko shopping street. The room is quite small same as Japanese standard. Amenities in the room are provided. Room is comfort and clean. Hotel staff is very friendly. The breakfast is served in hotel's coffee shop. They... More

This is a budget hotel, but that was exactly what I was looking for when I booked it. The location is fabulous, just a few minutes walk to Ueno station and many other Ueno attractions. Rooms are smallish, but it was quite comfortable and very clean. I booked a single room. The bed was larger than a western style single,... More

Stayed for a few nights considering their location near Ueno (15 mins walk) and Okachimachi (5 min walk). Ameyoko-Cho is just behind the hotel. Therefore food and amenities are not an issue. Service was Ok, most of the receptionist spoke English so it is quite convenient. The room was adequate, we no temperature control for the air-con so it could... More

Although room was small, it was a pleasant stay. The receptionist was friendly and we were allowed to store our luggage at the hotel when we went to Hokkaido in between our stay in Ueno. Location was good also, near to train station. It also served breakfast with a few choices.

A couple streets away from Ameyoko and less than 10 min walk from Ueno station. Super convenience place and decent price but because of that the room (single) is very small. In room wifi, electric kettle, tv, aircon all came with the room worked well. Stayed there about a week and laundry machine and vending machines were handy. Breakfast though... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
