We stayed here for 4 nights in March. Then location is absolutely fanstastic. When we booked we were sent theinstructions of how to get there and it was easy to find. The staff were really friendly and courteous. There are 2 subways within 10 mins so really easy to get around. I recommend planning your day and if you are... More

Even it is far from station, but everything is perfect. Near sensoji temple. Near convenient store. Feel very safe, even for solo traveler. Friendly staffs. Clean shower room and toilet. I saw the staffs couple times that cleaned up the room. They had a common room that had a great view, esp. At night

I went there with other 10 ASEAN nations and we were in one big room of 10 beds! The hotel is super near to the tourism sites and we can just walk around or take the train to anywhere. EVERYTHING is clean! But the top floor which is the kitchen and gathering area is quite crowed sometime because it's tiny.... More

The Khaosan Tokyo Origami is easily the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Unlike other hostels where you have to sleep in the same space as other traveler's, you have some privacy when you sleep. Your bed is located in a little cubby hole that you can conceal with a thick curtain, similar to a capsule hotel except more inviting.... More

The hostel is in a great location just behind senso-ji temple. The staff were friendly and helpful and the dorm bunks were comfortable with decent privacy. The communal area was very spacious. Good choice for budget travel.

Very good location- just next to the Asakusa temple and traditional streets with all the goods, and also not very far from Tokyo Skytree- the tallest building in Japan. Despite that, the hostel is quiet and warm, with a colorful lobby, nice kitchen and living room and a very friendly staff- recommended!

This branch is quite new I think so everything looks great. I like how spacious the bunk beds are and the curtains per bed. I stayed at the top of the bunk bed and it doesn't squeak everytime I climb in. The bed is comfortable and the sheets are great. It has 8 floors, 7 and 8th are common areas.... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
