Visited this hotel during my business trip. The staffs are very friendly. I booked a room which is small, but enough for myself. Everything in the room is kept in a pattern. It is also very clean. Nearby the hotel is Sensoji temple. Visitors can walk to reach the temple which is also an area with many shops selling souvenirs,... More

OK hotel for the price. Rooms not the smallest ones in Japan, though not big either. The staff knew some English. The room had to be payed in advance, at entry, like all hotel rooms in Japan. Not the newest hotel.

This is an average business hotel with small but clean room. Staffs speak ok English and are courteous. Location is more to Tawaramachi metro station than Asakusa station, which involves maybe a 10 minutes walk. The bed is average on the hard side, facilities are dated, but consider the price, this is considered reasonable in Tokyo. I booked it simply... More

The rooms are small, as usual for Tokyo standard, with free wifi, a plus point. The price is very reasonable if compared to other hotel in the sizzling area of Akasuka. Staff are polite and able to communicate in english. Only stayed for a night before transfering to Nikko the next day. Very close to the Tobu Asakusa station and... More

The rooms are clean with decent beds and good internetconnection. Single rooms are extremely small. Breakfast is OK. The hotell is well situated close to the sizzling area of Asakusa. Do not sleep with open windows, the noise can be annoying.

Stayed many times before they changed ownership and name (previous name is Sun Hotel Asakusa). but first time after the new name adopted. Dont see too many differences between the new name and old name. Service is good although not every front desk staff speaks English. The overall experience (5 nights) is good although there was some annoying noise lasting... More

It is a very nice place to stay. The price is wonderful due to the conditions that the hotel offers you. The rooms are small, its true but the cleaness of the place makes you forget it.

Took a train direct from the airport to Asakusa station, then walked about 5 minutes to the hotel. The hotel is along the main road that also leads to the Sensoji area (about 5 min walk away) and is near a lot of eateries and cafes. The room is adequate--I had a super single and was more than happy. The... More

I loved their service and good location! Restaurant is right underneath so no broblem for your breakfast. Very nice area of Asakusa and a lot of wonderful restaurants around. Near Akihabara, Ueno and Ginza. Not so roomy but cozy clean room is available. You can bring your laptop then you can connect internet easily. Top notch!

A little hotel in Asakusa, the old part of Tokyo. The hotel has a great location close to shrines and resturants and everything that is happening in the Taito City Area. The rooms are small but had everything that you need. Negative for me was the fact that the window was not able to open.

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
