Was recommended by my sister who stayed there before and so we stayed here for our honeymoon. Since we wanted something that affordable, good location and where we can easily connect to airport express and other parts of Japan (we were heading to Lake Kawaguchiko and Hakone for a few days). Service was ok, breakfast provided but better off buying... More

Reasonably priced petit hotel located just outside of Iriya exit of Ueno station. Good selection of free amenity goods. Also, serving complementary simple breakfast. Recommended. 上野駅に大変近く便利でした。無料の朝食もパンとジュースだけですが、ついていてお得です。この価格でこれだけの内容であれば、大変満足しました。

This is my 1st time staying in Sutton hotel, after reading so many good reviews on it. . My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights, 5dec to 7Dec and 11Dec to 13Dec respectively. We stayed in their standard double and superior double. Room were small, but that's Japan standard, and we have no issue since we have only... More

My 2nd time stay in Sutton Ueno Hotel. It is very near to the Keisei train station that has a direct train to the airport. It is also within 2min walk to the JR train station, with many conbini stores within the area. We booked a suite, and the room is considerably big to have 4 people! Clean rooms, good... More

The lobby for check-in is on the 3rd floor and have a little of everything from earbud, comb, cotton etc. The front desk team is generous & helpful. We asked them to book a restaurant's table for us as that restaurant only speaks Japanese, and didn't get disappointed. The room is small but has a little bit of everything too.... More

Booked this motel and so glad I did. Close to Ueno station, markets, endless cheap restaurants and other sight seeing attractions in the Ueno area. We were greet by lovely staff and our rooms looked beautiful complete with a basket of goodies including robes, washers, toothbrushes, etc. The room was spacious and surprisingly quiet. We had 4 bed, 2 tvs,... More

Located in front of Ueno station (@ Iriya exit), this humble hotel is a gem in its area. I decided to stay in Ueno for a few days this time round(even though its slightly further to Shinjuku/Shibuya) because I find Ueno has the best great bargains for shopping. Halal food(kebabs) stalls are abundance at nearby open air Ameya Yokocho market... More

Very close to JR Ueno, 1 min from Iriya Exit (this exit has escalator and coin locker) Room and bathroom is very clean. Wooden floor made you stress free from dust allergy. There're bread croissant cereal and fresh coffee for breakfast. Staffs are very nice, providing amenity for kid is so thoughtful. Certainly come back again and recommend this hotel... More

Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
