We stayed 5 days in Sutten Place, Ueno. The Hotel is close to Ueno JR station, which is handy, you get around uncomplicated. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortably. Included in the price is a small breakfast ( coffee, tea, div. bread, jam, milk, cereal ). In the bathroom is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Unfortunately it... More

We had a Junior Suite which gave us extra room, but couldn't get double bed, only twin. Breakfast was a couple of mini croissants, mini rolls or toast, coffee was good, but had to take it up to the room due to very small area on reception floor. Staff were polite and efficient. Room was well serviced but we could... More

Located nearby JR Ueno, Iriya Exit. Also walking distance to Tokyo Subway Line. Small room, but clean. Breakfast is included in the price. Bread, cereal, milk along with jam and butter. Coffee/tea as well. not much to expect. Comfortable place. Near a shop selling motorcycle helmets/gear. Got a shoei helmet for much cheaper than back home. All in all, comfortable... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Payment for the room is expected upon check-in - this is common practice in Japan. Location is very convenient - literally a short walk from the JR Ueno Station, Iriya Exit. Nearby are many stores and restaurants - Ameyokocho, Ueno Park, Keisei Ueno station, Marui City, and convenience stores. Without a doubt... More

They had the rudest receptionists I have ever encountered in Japan - all except one guy. I am familiar with the culture as I have stayed and worked in Japan before.....but the attitude of the staff was simply atrocious. Unlikely to be staying there again. Still, value for money, clean, and accessible to Ueno station (although it is quite a... More

We stayed at this hotel for nine nights. The room was a lot bigger than I imagined and definitely had plenty of room to move, the bathroom was spacious as well. Stayed here for 1. We arrived in Tokyo late and we wanted a place close to Ueno Station to crash after our flight. Location is extremely close to Ueno Station. The layout is a little unusual in that the lobby is on the 2nd floor with street access via elevator. The short, wood-lined "hallway" to elevator is a little strange...it... More

The hotel location is good. It's only 1-2 minutes walk from JR Ueno station. The hotel lobby is on the 3rd floor and the entrance hallway is like an ordinary apartment hallway. Staying in Ueno, Asakusa

Neighborhood Profile
Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa. Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit a variety of different museums and galleries. At Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at the end of the year, when many people go on shopping sprees. The town of Asakusa, developed around Sensoji temple, has many shops selling goods and clothing from old Japan, making it a great place for souvenir hunting. It's also known for various annual festivals, and the whole district gets involved with the huge Sanja Festival in May.
