Stayed from 12th - 19th March 2010. The hotel is quite cozy but the rooms is so small. Like you are in a ship or something but it offers a very very very very very comfy bed. I love the bed! The hotel offers internet service which you have to pay a few hundreds yen but it doesn't matter. Had... More

Ikebukuro is the second largest subway station and hence is very well connected. Sakura is very nearby. The hotel staff is very friendly and always at the reception. I stayed in the 4 bed dormitory and met very interesting people. Its a cozy place and comes light on the pocket even if you want to stay for longer stretches.

Very basic hotel, cramped and simple rooms, friendly staff, cheap prices (for Tokyo) and good position for subway.

I cannot fault this hotel, the staff are great, extremely helpfull and friendly. If you are thinking of going to Tokyo give this hotel consideration.

When we arrived at the Sakura Hostel in Ikebukuro it was like a breath of fresh air. We had just left the Sakura Hotel Jimbocho, which was terrible; small, cramped, bad location. Ikebukuro is somewhat of an entertainment area, so there was always something to do and see. The hostel is very close to the station (be sure to take... More

To start, I need to say that the staff here is wonderful. They speak very decent English and are very accommodating. We did however, have to change hotel. The room is very small, I mean very small. We had about 2' space around the bed. Perhaps for a young person just wanting a very nice place to sleep, this is... More

Great location for the price. The staff was really helpful. Room was small, but for a backpacker is good. Breakfast was included. Share bathroom, but always was clean.

A really nice and friendly hotel, in a good location. The room was very small (we had a triple room- a double bed with another foldable bed, and there was just enough room to put our luggage on the floor), but very clean and nice. Also the shower and bathroom were great, with nice toiletries provided. The staff were friendly,... More

We stayed here for one night when we wanted an extra night in Tokyo. So we paid 14000 yen for our room. The rooms are very small, even for Japan. Our room had a double bed and an extra bed for our teenage son, which meant there was hardly any room to open up a suitcase. The AC could not... More
