I totally agree with other recent reviewers on this hotel. Yes, it is a bit run-down establishment and you should not expect the slick and spotlessness of Japanese business hotels. But please be advised that it is located near a large metro station conveniently connected to the entire Tokyo metropolitan area. They regularly run special offers and promotion so I... More

Very unhappy with this place. Run down place. Poor service. Forget the cafe unless you enjoy second hand cigarette smoke. Food is mediocre. I regret staying in this place. This place is definitely for the budget conscious but I would recommend spending a little more to stay in a better place.

I have stayed here many times. What I love - It is near Ikebukuro Station. Good for travellers arriving from Narita and Haneda. - There are lifts and escalators to the street level. Important as dragging luggages up stairs at old and smaller stations isn't funny. - Lots of convenience stores, and restaurants that open til late. - Great service... More

I expected a little more. There is no wifi in the room, the room needs renovation. The bathroom is all plastic and very small. Breakfast price is 320 yen, but I don't think it is good value for money. You can borrow umbrella from the hotel for free if it is rainning. There are a lot of restaurants near by,... More

Stayed in the Sakura hotel as part of a two week trip to Japan. We had stayed in this hotel previously and yet again I found staff really friendly and helpful. We had booked a double room which was small and basic but perfect for what we wanted, just a place to rest our head. The hotel offers a good... More

If you are an experienced hosteler, or even a camper, you can be very content with the dorm options at this facility. I was traveling alone and meeting a family member who is a resident. All I needed was that basics: bed, toilet, shower. The Women's Dorm was just right (I was lucky to get a bottom bunk). The bathroom... More

I travelled to Japan with my sister and stayed here in a double room. For 6400 yen / night we couldn't go wrong. Small room with an ensuite. Some would call this tiny but for Japan it was breat for the price. About 1km walk from Ikebukuro station, the hotel was close to convenience stores and some food outlets and... More

Location is great as it is walking distance from the Ikebukuro station, there is no lack of eating places. Hotel in Japan is expensive so this place is value for money. It is great for those poeple who want to extend their trip in Japan after their business trip but without having to spend too much money on their hotel... More

This is the second time I've stayed at Sakura Hotel. This time I had a twin room (bunk beds) which included a small ensuite and a small desk with TV. The best thing about Sakura is the location and value for money. It is in a nice neighbourhood (the middle of Ikebukuro) and only a short walk to the JR... More

We stayed in the 4 bunk basic room. It was very small and contained only the beds (no place to put clothes etc). We were located on the top (7th) floor, which was quite noisy, and we couldn't access the hotel's wifi. I found the room and shared bathrooms on this level similar to staying in a hostel, but without... More
