Family Inn Saiko was our absolute favorite thing about our trip to Japan. We stayed for two weeks and this ryokan was such a great deal. It is located in a very safe neighborhood of Ikebukuro which makes walking/traveling back and forth very comfortable. It's close to many stores, laundromats, and subway stations. The staff is so nice. We interacted... More

The Family Inn Saiko was the first place I've stayed in during my trip in Japan. I appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff, the quiet (but interesting) neighbourhood, the nice room and the japanese bath (very relaxing after a day of tourism in Tokyo). I would definitely recommend it!

Stayed here due to all the previously excellent reviews and to save boring you I'll only say- stay here if you come to Tokyo. Great friendly, helpful staff. It feels like you actually live here. It's not in the middle of Tokyo (but where really is?) but to be honest we did quite a lot of travelling around and that... More

I can only agree with all the positive rewievs about this place. So why write another one, well I think it is important to tell other potential guests and the management they are still very good. Some places loose their initial way of taking care of guests but this is not the case here. Some hints on getting more out... More

Our family holiday with 2 girls aged 7 and 11, was about enjoying the Japanese culture while exploring beautiful Japan. The reviews for Family Inn Saiko did not lie at all, the Inn including the wonderful staff (Nicholas, Mr Maza, Betty etc.) made our holiday perfect for the 9 nights we stayed. The Inn: The reception staffs are full of... More

I read up on this hotel so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect in advance. For the price I paid, it exceeded my expectations. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It seems to be family run and so they all truly care about the business and their guests. They offer many maps and information and... More

This will work for you only if you are new to Japan and you haven't seen anything else in the country. Let me start with the good: the staff is lovely, the communication via email is very smooth and they really try HARD to please you. This is certainly a good point and I can see that is what makes... Thank you very much for choosing us, and we appreciate your valuable review for your stay. Please let us do the supplementary explanation of our private bath on the 4th floor. The Japanese word "ONSEN" is used for a natural hot spring, however, our private bath (FURO, or polite form OFURO) runs on heated tap water. We hope that your... More

We had the most wonderful stay here and would return in a heartbeat. It's a great location in a charming part of the city. It's quiet and comfortable. We slept well every night. The staff are unfailingly kind, helpful, warm and generous with their time, attention and advise. I heartily recommend this as a base from which to explore this... More

Wonderful ryokan! I would definitely stay here again. The staff are very helpful and speak English pretty well. They even helped us make a reservation on a tour we wanted to attend. You can always ask them anything, and they will make suggestions on where to go. They even remember where you are going a certain day and will let... More
