Stayed in Apr 2015. Hotel has everything the Super chain is known for. Efficiency, cleanliness, and of course the additional touches like selection of pillows, password room access, etc. Very convenient access too from the major station of Ikebukuro, which itself is surrounded by departmental stores. Room was the usual Japanese business hotel size but I thought it was sensibly... More

We stayed at Super Hotel JR Ikebukuro Nishiguchi for 8 nites last month. Other than the only unpleasant incident (more on that later), the location is very good & the price is inclusive of breakfast which is always welcoming. We had been warned beforehand about the limited space in most Tokyo hotels & true enough, the room was indeed pretty... More

Stayed here for two stays totaling 6 nights in May 2013. Hotel is located very close to C6 (escalator) or C1 (stairs) exit from Ikekuburo Station. Look for the Orange colored Sebu Hope Center signs to find those exits. Rooms are very small as others have mentioned, but very clean. The black-out curtain kept the room super dark, and the... I stayed in a twin room in this hotel with a friend. The hotel is a very close walk from Ikebukuro station (provided you use one of the exits near the hotel). Our room was very small which might be off-putting to people not used to Japanese business hotels. However, I think it's fine provided you are not planning to... More

Thank you very much for your comment. As you have mentioned, our nearest exit called C1 only has stairs and not escalator. If you have many baggages, we would recommend you to use C6 exit. We might put that information on our website for our foreigner guests. Also, having many requests from the guests, we are considering about adding more... More

I've booked here mostly because of the nice website, but the reality was a bit of an disappointment. Their "close to the station" is actually quite a walk (~10min) and the entry to the hotel is so well hidden that I walked past it quite a few times. The hotel has a code-based system, meaning you receive a code at... More

Thank you for your comment. How was your trip in Japan? We know there are many problems that we have to overcome to make a hotel which satisfies all guests. We keep trying hard to provide you better service. We hope to see you again if there is any chance. Super Hotel JR Ikebukuro Nishiguchi More

Last time I went to Tokyo, I stayed in Toyoko Inn, which was fantastic. This time, since I was staying with a bunch of friends (between us we had about 7 rooms all up!) I left the choice open to a vote. The "Western Breakfast" swung things in Super Hotels favour, however we stuck with Ikebukuro. The hotel was good,... More

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
