I slept alone for a month last year in this hotel, really close to Otsuka station. Although the staff is able to speak English only a little bit, they try to be really helpful as much as they can. For example, if you leave the hotel for a night, they will be available to take you luggage for free, so... More

I booked this hotel by chance due to a sudden change in itinerary that saw me in Tokyo two days ahead of schedule. In my many trips to Tokyo, I have never stopped at Otsuka, but I will certainly be keeping this budget hotel on my radar in my future trips. The hotel is located close to the Otsuka Station... More

Room & Service meets the standard of the chain hotel. Location is good, near the Jr station (with the escalator!!). Second hand brand name shop is near the hotel. However, it's far from some attractive place eg. 50 min by train to Odaiba.

First stayed in this inn 7 years back..managed to visit tokyo once again and was pleasantly surprised that this inn hasnt changed any bit! Small and cosy room and the simple jap breakfast. Definitely value for money! 2 mins walk from Otsuka station on the Yamanote Line.

I stay in this hotel every time when I go to Tokyo, the transportation is very convenience, just 3 minutes to JR station, and the next station is Ikebukuru, a famous shopping place, the most important is the price is very reasonable!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Location was great. Less than 5 minutes walk from the JR Station with loads of cheap restaurants along the way. It was a pleasant walk even at night. The hotel is located slightly off the main thoroughfare. Thus, it was nice to sit outside by their outdoor tables since it was very peaceful. We... More

Budget functional hotel located close to Otsuka JR station. Though our room was tiny, it was clean and conveniently equipped with tv, towels, yukatas, tooth brush, soap and hair dryer. In the morning, a light breakfast of small pastries and rice was provided. After a long flight to Japan, it was a decent choice for a night stop-over between Tokyo... More

If you're looking for some peace and quiet amid the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, this hotel would be a great choice. Less than 5 minutes from the train station, the newer of the two Toyoko Inns is easy to find. Just check the skyline. The rooms were well cleaned every day. I prefer a firm mattress, and this hotel... More

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
