The location of this hotel was terrific. It literally took 2 mins from the Yamanote line train platform to the Hotel. Strong wifi on the 5th floor. Staff were very helpful. There are numerous shops and cheap eateries (380 yen) in the area. A Supermarket with a Daiso at the end of the street (head down the street to the... More

We let the location and the price of this place dictate our decision to stay here. Given all that we wanted to see and do during our first visit to Tokyo, we knew we would hardly be spending any time at the hotel and therefore, were willing to forgo something a bit more upscale. The location on the Yamanote Line... More

I stayed here on 5 nights. You can walk from JR Otsuka Station around 5 minutes to come to your hotel. Around hotel have many restaurant ie. ramen, sushi and yakiniku. Nearly have Family mart and 7-eleven. It's very convenience to stay here if you want to travel in Tokyo and nearly in Kanto. Room very clean and comfortable but... More

The hotel is located close to the Otsuka Station. Breakfast is japanese style. I stayed for 4 nights. I had breakfast at hotel 2 times. Breakfast should be served in the morning early , around 6.30 am , it will be good. My trip, 2 days I went out from hotel 6.45 am.

I slept alone for a month last year in this hotel, really close to Otsuka station. Although the staff is able to speak English only a little bit, they try to be really helpful as much as they can. For example, if you leave the hotel for a night, they will be available to take you luggage for free, so... More

I booked this hotel by chance due to a sudden change in itinerary that saw me in Tokyo two days ahead of schedule. In my many trips to Tokyo, I have never stopped at Otsuka, but I will certainly be keeping this budget hotel on my radar in my future trips. The hotel is located close to the Otsuka Station... More

Room & Service meets the standard of the chain hotel. Location is good, near the Jr station (with the escalator!!). Second hand brand name shop is near the hotel. However, it's far from some attractive place eg. 50 min by train to Odaiba.

First stayed in this inn 7 years back..managed to visit tokyo once again and was pleasantly surprised that this inn hasnt changed any bit! Small and cosy room and the simple jap breakfast. Definitely value for money! 2 mins walk from Otsuka station on the Yamanote Line.

I stay in this hotel every time when I go to Tokyo, the transportation is very convenience, just 3 minutes to JR station, and the next station is Ikebukuru, a famous shopping place, the most important is the price is very reasonable!

We stayed here for 2 nights. Location was great. Less than 5 minutes walk from the JR Station with loads of cheap restaurants along the way. It was a pleasant walk even at night. The hotel is located slightly off the main thoroughfare. Thus, it was nice to sit outside by their outdoor tables since it was very peaceful. We... More

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
