We have stay one night there. some staffs is about average service to poor. It seems that they service to only japanese not to other asian guest. The room is just ok, no space to open our luggage which the price is high comparing to other hotel nearby. The good thing is this hotel is near to subway station.

The hotel location was only about 5-10 minute walk from Ikebukuro station. I did enjoyed the newly furnished room with reasonable space and facilities with free breakfast served from 7:30am - 9:30am. Since my trip needed to travel out of Tokyo, I've deposited my big luggage by shown them the next booking confirmation during checked-out process. I traveled without carrying... More

This hotel is placed in good location where you can travel to many area by public transportation. There are also many good restaurants and shopping nearby. Overall facilities are OK but somehow the room is too small.

Not near to the train station, quite a distance to walk. Near by there was restaurant and bar. The room is small for double bed. If you wish to have a bigger room, go for queen bed, The room is much spacious. Friendly staff, and lovely breakfast prepared.

I booked through booking.com and stayed for around 6nights for $450aud in total. It was simply furnished but clean. A no frills kind of room but the breakfast is very good! Ikebukuro station is great to go to shinjuku, shibuya, etc. so location is good too! About ten mins away from station and shopping malls. They accept American Express too.... More

My friend and I stayed here for a week in December. The room is very small, basically just fits the double bed with a desk, bathroom, fridge etc. But it is ok, you can store your suitcase under the bed. Staff speak very limited English, so don't use big words as they won't understand. Room only comes with one pillow... More

This hotel is within walking distance to Ikebukuro station, making it really convenient to go to plenty of attractions around the city. Plenty of convenience stores nearby too. This hotel also provides free breakfast - nothing spectacular but the food was yummy if you are not a fussy eater. After all, there is no shortage of eating places in the... More

Looking to stay in one of Tokyo's major shopping districts, without going broke, this is the place. Rooms are small, but well appointed. You get everything you could need, plus the room comes with a free breakfast (unheard of in Tokyo). Just a 5 minute walk from the train station, straight with one turn. Curious enough, Front Desk staff didn't... More

I have stayed three toyoko inns in Tokyo. I least like to stay Toyoko Inn Tokyo Ikebukuro Kita-guchi No.2 when comparing with the other two a)Toyoko Inn Tokyo Ueno Tawaramachi-eki and b)Toyoko Inn Tokyo Nihonbashi. It was because 1) I booked the room for smoker (but I am not the smoker), the smell for me is strong; 2) Ikebukuro is... More

Staying in Ikebukuro

Neighborhood Profile
Ikebukuro
Ikebukuro is an area of massive development. Several thousand tenants occupy two giant department stores and shopping malls, where all sorts of shopping and gourmet foods can be enjoyed. The 60-story building at the east entrance of the station, Sunshine City, is a landmark within Ikebukuro and features an aquarium, planetarium, theme park as well as an observation platform. The popular name for the western side of this area is "Otome Road" (Maiden Road) and there are many shops selling products related to anime with a female theme. It has rapidly become the worldwide headquarters for ‘otaku’ or geek culture.
